"Hello there girl my sister can't shut up about," A blonde with a particularly thick accent commentated as she walked towards the studious brunette with two cups of hot chocolate in hand.
"Oh will you stop with the shipping," Wanda cried in slight exasperation. "Also I couldn't possibly take more things for free from you." Wanda added, nodding towards the hot chocolate's direction.
"Oh no, these are for me." Yelena looked at Wanda's dumbfounded expression and laughed, "Kidding! It's seriously no problem, my sister likes you too much to care about the money anymore anyways,"
"Gosh you never stop do you?"
"Hey now my sister has finally found love, do you think the teasing is ever gonna stop?"
"Like i told you for the billionth time, Natasha doesn't like me and I don't like her!"
"Keep telling yourself that till you actually believe it," Yelena scoffed, setting down the hot chocolates. "What are you working on anyways?"
"Dumb physics," Wanda replied, ignoring Yelena's previous comment. "I just can't get the hang of it." Wanda sighed, leaning back into her chair, wanting nothing more but to sink in and disappear.
"You know, back when Nat was in college, she minored in physics." Yelena mused.
"Wait seriously? How come she never mentioned her college days?"
"Ah well, she dropped out. Not really much of a conversation starter is it?"
"I guess not, but it'd be like something we have in common,"
"Something else you guys have in common is that you like each other~" Yelena smirked.
Wanda felt her face going hot as Natasha came walking up to their table. Not wanting to let Natasha know what they were talking about, Wanda swiftly changed the subject. "Hey Natasha, Yelena tells me you were in college before, why didn't you tell me?"
"Yelena, why would you bring that up?" Natasha rolled her eyes as she picked up a small poodle and sat down at the table. "Also it's your turn to take the counter now."
"One, she's struggling with her physics homework!" The blonde tried to justify herself. "And two, damnit."
Natasha shook her head with her signature slightly lopsided smile pasted on her face. "Regarding your question Wanda, I don't bring it up because like Yelena said, dropping out of college isn't really one of my glory days. But I did do well with Physics so let me take a look at your book."
As Natasha skimmed through the book, it left time for Wanda to ponder about why she dropped out. If she had been doing well in her classes, why would she drop out so suddenly?
"Natasha? I've got a question."
"Is it why I dropped out of college when I was supposedly doing well in my studies?"
"Actually yes. How did you know I was going to ask that?"
"You're not that hard to read. I dropped out because it got boring."
"Because it got boring?" Wanda repeated incredulously.
"Got a problem with that?" Natasha looked up from the physics book for the first time in their conversation.
"No, it's just, people don't usually drop out because it gets boring.."
"Well I did."
Wanda knew Natasha was hiding something. People in general did not drop out of college just because it's boring. Especially not Natasha. The older woman was feisty, stubborn and many more, but she was definitely not a quitter. However as the younger woman studied the older woman in silence, she knew she had hit a nerve. Thus, she dropped the subject and focused on the physics chapter that Natasha just started explaining to her.
