CHAPTER EIGHT

About an hour later after they played a few good songs, I began seeing a pattern forming. You know, with the band. I mean, they're really good, but the songs they're playing. Well, they could do better. I tell Rod this too when they were taking an interval.
Rod's eyes go a little wide, but then he looks up at the stage seeming to think on my words.

"Well, what do you suggest?" He asked, and I grin when I tell him they need a bit of Meat in the mix.
"Oh, and maybe a bit of Pink and Lambert in there too. You know, just to mix it up a bit."
He laughed at this, reminding me they don't have a woman to sing those.
Zealie chose that moment to interrupt our conversation and with what he said, I end up giggling.
"Well, that's not entirely true. I mean, I'm sure you'd be perfect for that job buddy."

Rod didn't look impressed by this, so I playfully slap Zealie's arm telling him to behave. Rod, eventually, sends him the finger and then leaves us to it while he and the rest of his band hit the stage. Only just when I think they're going to carry on singing, my night gets very interesting.

"So guys, I've had my first complaint about the night. I'm pretty disappointed that we're not doing a good job for you tonight."
Oh shit, Rod what have you done? My eyes snap to Zealie's, and he just laughed after telling me I've brought it on myself.
"Rule number one baby don't tell the band that they basically suck."
Bollocks! Suddenly I hear a few boos in the crowd obviously not happy that someone had even dared to say this. Only the room suddenly goes deathly silent when I hear my name get called out. Oh fuck, Zealie, help me.
Again, he laughed at me and pushes me away. He actually pushed me towards the stage after the lead singer who I now know, as Chris. Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with his name. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a nice name, but it's not what I'd expected. I was expecting something a lot more rock you know?

"Come on Billie, don't be shy now. Come on up here, tell us what you think we should be singing."
Oh shit! I turn around just trying to get out of there. Only Zealie's quicker. He wraps me up in his arms and carried me up on stage.

"I swear to god, Zealie, I'm going to kick your arse for this. Just you wait I'm going to get my revenge."
He's laughing again, and the sound of it vibrates through my chest. So while I'm getting manhandled up here, I hear the crowd laughing and cheering away too. Once Zealie places my feet down he swirls my body around. Only to, suddenly become face-to-face with the hot lead singer. He's grinning too, looking like he wants to laugh his head off, along with everyone else.
Oh god, this is so cruel funny as hell, but so cruel.
"So Billie, what exactly didn't you like about our set?"
He leans in a little closer to me. All the while he's looking at me, I get lost in his sparkling baby blues. I have to pull my eyes away just to distract myself I end up looking for Zealie, but he's gone. The shit's actually left me up here. So when I search him out, I find him sitting back on his stool with a Pint in his hand. He's holding it up in a cheers gesture.
"Dick!" He must see my almost silent curse because he's now laughing again. Fucker! Oh, Zealie-Boy, I'm so getting you back for this. Trust me, I'll have my revenge.

Reluctantly, I turn back to look at the hot singer. I take a deep breath and then tell him his set was good which makes his brows nip together with a grin on his face.

"It's just. Well, your voice is amazing. I just think that you're not using it to its full potential. The same goes for the rest the music is good, but there are so many songs that would be, more 'suited' to your abilities."
Again, I watch as a panty-melting smile spreads across his face. I have to look away again because if I don't I think I might run away. Just with the way, he's looking at me it's like he wants to eat me. Seeing this made me look for Zealie, again. I see he's watching, but he doesn't look fazed by it unless he's not seeing it. Shit, am I imagining this? Or it could be for that fact that there's a woman now standing by his side. Oh, bloody hell here we go again!
"Well, what do you suggest? I have to admit I'm pretty intrigued to know your thoughts. You know, since you seem to think you know what you're talking about."
Oh boy, I think I'm bruising his Rock-Star ego here. So once again I pull my eyes away from Zealie when he asks this and that's when I tell him they need to go old-school rock.
"But also throw in a few of the new stuff. You know, keep the younger generation interested.
So my suggestion is a bit of Meatloaf you can never go wrong with a bit of 'Bat Out of Hell'. Or even throw in a little, AC-DC. You know, to get them bouncing, but depending on the scene throw in a little Pink and Lambert. You know, just to chill it down a bit."
His brows lift when he hears that last part he's now asking me what song that would be. Of course, I grin and tell him "Oh it's only the best song ever." Only as I tell him the name, I look to Zealie.
"What do you want from me?"
Only he's not looking. No, he's talking to the woman that's now leaning into him instantly I feel that sting again.
So much for, not ditching me.
"Okay. Well, let's try a bit of Meat first. Shall we?"
This is where my eyes pull away from Zealie, where I'm met with his again. He takes a quick look at Zealie, and I see a look of disappointment. He shook his head before looking at me again but grins when he sees my wide shocked eyes.
Did he just say "we?" Oh, fuck!
I jump a little when he called out, telling somebody to pass a mic over. No way? He can't be serious right now, can he? Oh, he is!
