Chapter 15: Please, come back to me

At the heart of Jaku City, Bakugou's frustration boils over as he observes Shigaraki still breathing amidst the chaos.

"That bastard's still alive...!" he growls through clenched teeth.

Meanwhile, Shigaraki lies on the ground, weakened but defiant. As Endeavor steps towards him, Setsuko, filled with concern, moves to rush to her father's side. But Endeavor, with a stern grip, holds her back.

"Ow! Grandpa, let me go!" Setsuko protests, struggling against his hold.

"Don't go near him, he's dangerous!" Endeavor's voice is firm as he keeps Setsuko restrained and turns his attention back to Shigaraki.

"It's over, Tomura Shigaraki. No matter how powerful you become, we will not yield to a destruction devoid of conviction!" Endeavor asserts.

Shigaraki, his voice trembling with emotion, manages to stand. "You people... heroes..." he begins weakly, his gaze distant.

"What's he saying?" Gran Torino interjects, his curiosity piqued.

Shigaraki continues, his voice gaining strength with each word. "You pretend to protect society... In the past... over many generations... You pretended you couldn't see those you couldn't protect... and covered up those you hurt... Building yourselves up in that despicable way... In the end, the insides rotted, crawling with maggots... It was the accumulation of little things happening over and over. There was the trash that got used to being protected, and those who created that trash in order to profit by protecting them. Everything that I've ever seen, everything you all rejected me. That's why I'll reject you, too. That's why I destroy. That's why I become stronger."

His words, laden with bitterness and sorrow, evoke tears from Setsuko, who can no longer contain her emotions.

"It's simple, isn't it? You don't have to understand. It's because you didn't understand that we have heroes and villains," Shigaraki concludes, his voice heavy with resignation and defiance.

Endeavor's flames blaze towards Shigaraki, aiming to seize the advantage.

"Thanks for the short break! You're at death's door, aren't you? Prepare yourself!" Endeavor's voice crackles with determination as the flames engulf their target. But Shigaraki, undeterred, leaps out of the inferno towards Endeavor, only to be intercepted by Gran Torino's lightning-fast strike, slamming him to the ground with force.

As Shigaraki crashes down, he retaliates, crushing Gran Torino's leg in a brutal counterattack. The sudden violence triggers immediate action from everyone present.

With lightning speed, Deku surges forward, positioning himself to intercept Shigaraki's next move. Shigaraki hurtles past Deku, heading straight for Eraserhead, his intentions clear.

Reacting swiftly, Ryuku intervenes, her massive hand halting Shigaraki's advance. Undeterred, Shigaraki attempts to break through her grip, while Deku utilizes his black whip to restrain him further.

"A deleter round!" Deku's voice echoes with determination as he channels his power, preparing to unleash a devastating strike. But before he can execute his move, Shigaraki lunges, sinking his teeth into Deku's arm.

In a desperate bid, Shigaraki unleashes the bullet, aimed directly at Aizawa's leg. But just as it seems inevitable, in a split second, it disappears, leaving Shigaraki bewildered.

Confusion clouds Shigaraki's expression. "What the hell?" he mutters, unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events.

Then, in a dramatic reveal, the bullet is intercepted by a single white feather, held aloft by an unexpected savior.

Endeavor's eyes widen in astonishment as realization dawns.

"Let my daughter go!" the commanding voice rings out, cutting through the chaos with steely resolve.

"Dad!" Tears of relief cascade down Setsuko's cheeks as she rushes towards her father and cousin, who stand resolute before Shigaraki.

Amidst the shock of their unexpected arrival, Setsuko embraces them tightly. "I'm so glad you two are here! Now you can make Papa snap out of this craziness!"

Natsuo, the third oldest Todoroki sibling, approaches his restrained boyfriend with measured steps. "You can remove your hand, Ryuku. You can let go of him, Deku," he instructs calmly.

Ryuku and Deku exchange hesitant glances but comply with Natsuo's directive, releasing their grip on Shigaraki. The onlookers hold their breath, anticipation thick in the air.

"Tenko," Natsuo addresses the confused figure before him, a glimmer of recognition flickering in Shigaraki's eyes.

"Who is that? I feel like I know him," Shigaraki murmurs, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

"Don't mind him, Tomura. Get me One For All!" the sinister voice interjects.

But Natsuo refuses to yield. "Tenko, I need you. Please, come back to me," he implores softly, his hands reaching out to cup Shigaraki's cheeks gently.

Shigaraki's gaze begins to clear, and a single word escapes his lips, laden with emotion. "Natsu..."

"It's okay, I'm here," Natsuo reassures him, his touch a beacon of solace in the midst of turmoil.

Something inside Tenko snaps, and tears begin to stream down his face uncontrollably. His entire body trembles with the weight of his sobs as he collapses, crumbling under the weight of his emotions. Natsuo, ever steady, catches him, and together they sink to the ground.

With Tenko's head nestled against Natsuo's shoulder, he clings to him as if his very life depends on it. Natsuo murmurs soothing words of love and reassurance, whispering "I love you" and "it's okay" repeatedly, a comforting mantra to ease Tenko's anguish.

As time passes, the intensity of Tenko's sobs gradually subsides, replaced by the hushed stillness of exhaustion. Eventually, he succumbs to unconsciousness, his grip on Natsuo unyielding even in slumber.

Reluctantly, Natsuo releases his hold on Tenko as the authorities and medical personnel arrive. Setsuko approaches her parents, her voice gentle as she addresses her father.

"Dad, I need you to let go of Papa so he can receive medical attention," she implores softly.

With a heavy sigh, Natsuo complies, allowing the paramedics to transport Tenko into the waiting ambulance. Both Natsuo and Setsuko accompany him to the hospital, refusing to leave his side.

"We did it," Bakugou murmurs, a sense of disbelief evident in his tone.

"We won the war!" Deku exclaims, a surge of triumph coursing through him as the injured heroes are also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Right at that moment, the time travelers vanish and are sent back into their own time.
