~Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better - Maya Angelou~
'ohh Denzel Evan', as she gazed at him leaning her head on the desk, 'maybe today I will have the courage to say at least more than 3 words to him, I hope so.' She thought, chewing lightly at the end of her pencil with a pensive look in her eyes. Alice looks around the room and notices zesty posters of the different Universities in Australia, she doesn't know whether or not to even go to Uni yet. Alice's family are one of the riches families in Victoria but just like most families her parents travel a lot, to all sorts of countries and cities that she can't even remember what any of them were. In year 7 she started making decisions herself since her mother and father weren't by her side at all. Alice started with bad grades growing up and blames her parents for it since they didn't help at all. Crying all night and having to change her pillow case cover in the morning, not knowing what to do that day also. Alice had Ruben though, Reuben was her butler and also close friend. Reuben has been living with her and her family before they left her, Reuben has been more than a butler to her. He has showed her how to dance and how to sing, helped her with her grades and picking good books to read. Helped her with her boring taste in clothing which was slacks and baggy shirts that even made her look like a boy for a week. He was considered a brother she never had or a father she always wanted to be around. He was her salvation through the nights she had to stay alone, he was her role model and he was definitely her hero.

Alice sat down at the kitchen table, slouching her head onto her elbow sleepily. Reuben catches her falling back to sleep then purposely slams the pantry door shut waking her up easily.
"Good morning Alice!" he says arching his eyebrow, then grabbing the hot pan and carefully placing it onto the marble table where Alice was.
"Is it really a 'good' morning Reuben?" yawning out the words as she watched him put the scrambled eggs and bacon into her designed plate. She could already tell what he made because she could smell the herbs in the eggs and the cooked bacon that filled the air. She looked out the window gazing off at the blooming bright flowers that were in the distance, thinking about how color coordinated they were. It would start from the top of the hill with a splash of maroon red, then with a bright colored yellow next to them, then ending the pattern with purple lavender beside them. The flowers would go on for ages down the hill into the distance only seeing tiny dots of colors instead of seeing the actual flower its self.
"Alice! Cut it out, seriously you need to eat your breakfast cause it sure ain't going to eat itself. But I guess it doesn't matter cause you do have a crazy imagination hay?" asking rhetorically with a smirk on his face.
"Oh my... I could think of all the things that would make me cry and upset at school today, but getting judged from the only man in my life and also the only person who actually cares about me makes me worried." she says then picks up her fork to start eating.

Alice slipped her school shoes on just as Reuben grabbed her bags and opened the front door for her, walking out into the morning air that hits her face like a cool splash of water. Smelling a hint of lavender and the soil together, then hearing the wind moving through the leaves of the tall trees. Watching singing birds in the distance that move together like one in the air. Alice walks towards the black Royce Rolls that is parked at the end of the driveway ready to leave. Reuben opens the back of the car boot putting her Givenchy Alligator Antigona bag in the corner.
Closing the boot gently he looks at Alice and walks towards her, "Hey, just try to have a good day, okay?" Smiling at her but she doesn't see his smile reach his eyes.
