The next day, the Thorndyke residents packed all they needed for the concert and headed out, with Mr. Tanaka driving the limo to the park. Mr. and Mrs. Thorndyke had also disguised themselves so that no one would recognize them, as today was all about Sonic and his sister.
When they got to the park, a stage was already set up and people were mingling around, more and more coming by the minute. As Mr. Thorndyke paid for the entry fee, a tan man who looked like he hopped straight out of an 80s music video walked up to them.
"Yo, yo, yo, what's up?" He spoke with high energy. "You must be the Sonic and friends Star was telling me all about."
"Uh, yeah, that's us." Chris frowned. "Who are you?"
"I'm her producer, Drake. Star's in the backstage getting ready. I'd go see her now if I were you, Sonic. She's been very excited to see her brother again. Literally wouldn't stop talking about it all day."
"Thanks!" Sonic smiled excitedly, gesturing for his friends to follow him as they went backstage.
Backstage, sitting at a vanity, a blue hedgehog sat staring at the mirror, practicing her angelic voice. Everyone but Sonic was shocked. She looked almost EXACTLY like Sonic!
Her quills were in the same style, her fur a lighter shade of blue than his. Eyelashes adorned her large emerald green eyes, and there was blue fur covering her arms, unlike Sonic who had peach fur. Light peach fur peeked out from the inside of her ears, the same color as her stomach and muzzle. And unlike most Mobian females, the only thing she wore was her gloves, a pair of red boots with golden buckles, green headphones, and a black string necklace with a Christian Cross wrapped in purple wire.
"Star?" Sonic whispered, afraid that if he spoke too loudly, he would shatter the image in front of him.
Star's ear twitched at his voice and she turned to look at him, her eyes sparkling with excitement, and a smile spreading across her face.
"Sonic!" She cried out happily, standing up from her vanity.
"Star!" Sonic cried back, breaking from his stance as he ran to his sister, jumping into her arms in a tight embrace, tears streaming down his face. "Oh Star! I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too, little brother." Star smiled warmly, hugging onto her brother as she pet his quills back.
"I just can't believe you're here now. It almost feels unreal."
"I assure you Sonic, this is all real. I'm here, brother. I'm here."
"AAAWWW!" Amy, Cream, Cheese, Ella, and Mrs. Thorndyke couldn't help but coo at the sweet moment between the siblings.
Hearing the girls behind him coo and the guys snickering at the sound, Sonic released himself from his twin and took a small step back, his muzzle blushing red.
"It's great to see you again, Star." He said. "It's been so long."
"Yes, way too long." Star nodded. "Four years almost. And yet, we're still as close as ever."
"Yeah, I don't know what I'd do if we ever got into a huge disagreement with each other." Sonic laughed.
"Oh, suck it up, siblings fight, that's normal!" Knuckles called from behind.
Sonic groaned and rolled his eyes, while Star just snickered.
"As great as it is to see you, I brought some friends who also want to meet you."
"Of course," Star smiled. "Any friend of Sonic is a friend of mine."
"Great! Well, these are my friends from Mobias, Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, and Knuckles. And these are my friends from here on Earth, Chris, Chuck, Ella, Mr. Tanaka, and Mr. and Mrs. Thorndyke."
"It's a pleasure to meet all of you." Star smiled, turning her attention to each person as Sonic introduced them. "And I'm glad Sonic has been able to make so many friends."
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Star." Amy chuckled. "Sonic never told us he had a sister, let alone a twin."
"Well, I honestly can't blame him." Star sighed sadly. "After all, I did kinda just got up and left the family at 16."
"Don't blame yourself, Star," Sonic frowned. "You did it to follow your dreams, like I've always told you to. I've always supported you then, and I still support you now."
"Thanks, brother." Star smiled, ruffling her brother's quills.
"Hey, quit that!" Sonic laughed as he playfully pushed her hand away from his head. "So how have things been for you? Are you still letting guys get under your skin?" Sonic crossed his arms, smirking knowingly.
"Don't I always?" Star laughed with a blush, making Sonic laugh too.
"Star, you're always doing this! You 'fall in love' way too easily, sis." Sonic snickered.
"Hey, I can't help it when I'm attracted to a good looking guy." Star playfully shoved him. "Plus, it helps my career."
"How?"
"I base my songs off of the relationships and the breakups." Star laughed.
"Woah, woah, woah, wait a minute!" Knuckles suddenly halted, looking at the two siblings. "What do you mean 'she falls in love way too easily'?"
"Well, that's one of her flaws, actually." Sonic chuckled sheepishly, earning a playful punch to the shoulder. "She's always falling for the next guy she crosses paths with."
"I don't fall for 'every' guy." Star rolled her eyes with a smile. "Besides, most of it is one-sided anyway."
"Star!" Drake suddenly came backstage. "Better wrap this reunion up quickly, you're on in 5 minutes."
"Kay, thanks Drake!" Star called back before turning to her brother and his friends. "Well, it was great seeing you guys, but I gotta finish getting ready. You guys should try finding a spot near the front of the stage so you can get the full experience. I hope to see you guys out there."
"Don't worry, Star, we wouldn't miss this for the world." Sonic smiled.
