My name is Riki Nishimura, or else, niki. I was born in Japan but came to korea last year (2019) as I have got into the company belift lab, under hybe. When I was 3, I started to learn dances because I want to become someone like Michael Jackson, crazy right? But from then on, I really loved dancing and it became a part of me, a piece that had made me up.
"Niki Ah, it's your turn!" Taki said, coming out of the practice room, running towards me. It is another month evaluation for dance, vocal and rap. With a numb feeling of anxiety, i went into the room and closed the door behind me.
As soon as I closed the door, I knew it was coming, that passionate feeling, had once again hit me by the chest, as if it was reminding me to head up and look confident...
"Niki! You've surprised me once again, how amazing are you with dancing? This kid is just.." said Lee Hyunsuk, our dance teacher. Coming to korea at the age of 13 might seem hard, but I've managed to live with everyone else and it's great here. But tomorrow, trainees from Big-hit are joining us as we are participating together in the show I-land next month.
"Niki! Come and look! The scores are out!" Taki shouted. I got excited and ran towards the evaluation board where some trainees already gathered to look at themselves. "Vocal 5th, rap 3rd and dance 1st." Not too much change, i thought as I went back to my seat to finish the rest of the bread.
Afternoon....
"Niki, you really should work on your vocals more, they are not stable, how are you going to become an idol if you cannot sing?" The vocal teacher said to me. My vocals are a total mess since i'm going through puberty, I cannot control my voice. It is so hard for me but I definitely want to become the best amongst all the trainees.
7:00PM....
"Well done guys, go back to your dorms and rest well. Tomorrow we are going to start a new system of training as the guys from big-hit are joining us!" Junhyuk, our manager said. I feel so tired that I could sleep on the floor now, so I went out of the building and called a taxi along with Taki who was already sleepy and we went back to the dorm. I have been growing so much these days that my knees hurts. Still remembered when I had just left Japan, I was only 168cm. Now I'm 172cm, quite surprising as those growing spurts are coming every day.
