Danny POV

He's kidding right?
I mean, he has to be.
It felt like I had relived my lover's gunshot all over again.

"Danny.. remember when Jamie and Eddie had an issue with their missions? Because Jamie has feeling for Eddie? His judgement was impaired. And I feel like you got feelings for miss Scott." Dad stated.

"What do you mean me and her aren't partners? That's all we are!" I raised my voice, slamming my hand down against my leg.

That's a lie.
She isn't just my partner..

"This is final Daniel. I don't want to have to cause another scene in here. Until I decide that I want Cassie (Y/N) and you partnered again, you will be back with Baez. Dismissed."

"Dad- what will she be doing?" I asked, almost desperately so.

"She will be walking the beat with Jamie and Sergeant Renzulli. Dismissed." He retorted, his tone changing slowly.

With that, I didn't press the issue.
I couldn't help but be furious.
Hurt even.

Later on that night...

YOUR POV

I finally got out of the shower, finally doing all of my skincare. I look down at my products as I then feel hands around me. Pleasure and desire fills the want inside of me.

"Hey mommy."

"Hey Danny~" I purr.

He starts kiss the side of my neck, leaning his chin down onto my shoulder.

"I missed you so much babygirl. I got sad news from the commissioner." Danny says sadly.

I then suddenly turn, looking up at him.

"What's wrong?"

"Well, we aren't partners anymore."

My face fell at his words. His arms wrapped around me in a warm hug. His cologne soothed my nerves. I closed my eyes, enjoying the small moment that is keeping us together. With a quick pull, he picks me up,  carrying me to the bedroom.

He places me down on the bed, his eyes were full of want but there was sorrow behind his eyes. I pulled his arm up, pulling him onto the bed. Getting under the covers, we cuddle close.

"Don't worry Danny, we will get through this. It's just temporary." I sigh, rubbing his tatted arm. He nods slowly, kissing my lips slowly.

"I'm so thankful for having you here with me.. I don't know how else I could cope with this." His voice was broken to the core.

"I am not going anywhere Danny, never."

With that, we finally were able to go to sleep.

Washington AVE
8:15 AM

Danny POV

I walked into the building, Baez alongside me. We got an early morning call about a possible suicide. Last nights images casted a dark shadow in my mind, from seeing Cassie tied up and being used to now me losing her as my partner.

"Danny, where's Cassie (Y/N)?"

I froze.

"I am unsure, I haven't seen her since yesterday." I lied.

Flashbacks of her body in the palms of my hands, my lips against hers, and her soft hair tickling my skin..
Of course I've seen her.
But I won't tell you that, Baez.

"Oh okay, I was just making sure she was okay."

Sergeant Renzulli comes walking in the room with Jamie and Cassie (Y/N). He then yells across the room.

"Attention everyone!"

Oh lord.

"I have a mission for our favorite little detectives, and our fellow members. Time to do a little boot camp, to see who's really meant to be one of the best of the NYPD's."

Everyone looked around, clearly confused of where he is going with this.

"Let's see how many secrets I can pull out of you!" The sergeant smiles.

I look towards Cassie and we each exchange a look of horror.
