𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞

THIRTEEN: christmas gift.

    

     STEVE HAD his hand in James' as they passed by El's bedroom, the door was wide open and you can hear them very clearly. El was discussing her character and Eddie was quiet. Because he was staring at the doorway, he had caught a glimpse of the two. He glanced back at El quickly, blinking. "Are... Steve and James together?" He asked.

"What?" She looks up from her little binder that she takes to D&D campaigns with the boys. She recently made a new friend too, a new girl named Max and she was also apart of the D&D party, mostly for El, because if Jane wasn't there, Max would probably not even spare the four boys a single glance. "Are Steve and James boyfriends?" Eddie asked with a slight annoyed and jealous tone.

"I--I don't know... I don't think so?" El had to put a finger to her chin, thinking about it before looking at Eddie. "They seem close. But James says they're just friends. That's all." She says, shrugging and Eddie nods before getting up. "I'll be right back." He tells her and she nods. "Okay!" She said and opened up her binder so that she can keep working on her character. As for the Munson, he approached James' door and did hear some noises coming from inside, unclear of what any of it is, he knocks on the door anyway and waited for an answer.

It swings open with James standing there, sighing. "Hey. What's wrong?" He asked worriedly right away and Eddie just glanced over at Steve who was laying in James' bed. "Can we talk in the hallway?" He asked before finally glancing up into James' eyes. "Okay..." The taller stepped out, glancing at Steve who quickly sat up, furrowing his brows.

"Um, so... I'm sort of failing Ms. O'Donnell's class. Sort of convinced she hates me, it's that or I'm just dumb... can you tutor me?" He asked and James glanced down between them. "Thought you hated me. And didn't wanna be friends." He says and Eddie just tilts his head. "I don't hate you. And this wouldn't be us being friends, this would be you just tutoring me." He says and James glanced up, stared into Eddie's big doe eyes. Christ, they were a lot like Steve's. This is what James thinks of sometimes, staring into Eddie's eyes when he stares into Steve's. "Okay... maybe." He says.

"Maybe? Come on, James, throw me a bone here. I'm in my last year of high school. My grades are kind of shit, you're like the only smart person I know who tolerates me. I wanna be apart of the '84 graduating class." He says and James nods. "Yeah, Jesus, okay? I'll tutor you." He says and Eddie grinned.

"Great! Thanks. You're the best."

James huffs, "okay, you're welcome?" He says before going back into his room as Eddie watched before he turned back as well, heading back into Jane's bedroom. "Hey, what did he want?" Steve propped himself up by his elbows, his shirt was missing and so were his pants, Jesus Christ. "Why are you half naked?" James asked as he shuts the door.

"I thought this was where our making out was going? Was I wrong?" Steve sat up properly now and James rolls his eyes. "You're annoying sometimes." He said as he locked the door and got onto the bed, hovering over Steve who's smiling widely up at him. "Am I?" He asked as his hands go to where they always go, on either sides of James' neck. "Sometimes." The taller says before leaning down, his lips meet with the shorter's.

Steve kisses back passionately, mewling quietly into his boyfriend's mouth as James' hands explored his waist. Something about Steve's physique was always what caught James' attention. His waist, his hips, his chest. He was kind of obsessed with all of it. He pulls back, staring into Steve's eyes and sure enough, he's thinking about Eddie again.

He sighed and laid onto his side, facing Steve who flips to lay onto his side as well. "Something wrong?" He asked him and James shook his head, glancing down. He reached up, gently touching over Steve's chest which trails down slowly. "Nothing. Everything's okay." He whispers and Steve just stared at him. "You look like you have a lot on your mind." He says and James does, he really does.
