Chapter One, "Silence"
Loki woke up to his alarm screaming at him, this was the start to every work day. The first thing he always did was brush out his shoulder length, black, curly hair. As he walked into the washroom to get his brush he looked into the mirror in shock. He had animal ears on the top of his head. He assumed that they were dog ears because of their shape, triangular with a fold about halfway to the top. He looked down and realised that he also had a tail. It had thick black fur on it. But it wasn't long enough to be a cat's tail. He brushed his hair and tried to ignore his new features. After that he walked back over to the main area of his room and over to his closet. Instead of wearing his usual dress shirt, tie, belt and pants, he took out a dull green, slightly oversized hoodie, with a black t-shirt, and dark wash jean trousers. He pulled the hood over his new ears knowing that he'd have to walk over to Sylvie's room and wake her like he always did.
Loki was lost in thought about why this had happened and before he knew it he was at Sylvie's door. He snapped out of it and knocked on her door. He didn't get a response so he tried again, only to be greeted by silence. He took his tempad out and called Mobius; he didn't tell him about the furry situation, but he did explain how he was in front of Sylvie's door and that he didn't get a response when he knocked on it.
"Alright, I'll unlock it for you," Mobius sighed.
Loki heard the door make a clicking noise, "I owe you one," Loki responded before hanging up. As soon as he put his hand on the door handle, Loki heard a strange rustling sound. He let go of the door instinctively and the noise stopped. Curiously he put his hand back onto the door, and as expected the noise continued. He realised that his hoodie was moving. He looked back and saw his tail wagging, yep, definitely dog features, he thought to himself. He turned the handle on the door and it opened. He stepped inside and looked around in an attempt to find Sylvie. Eventually, he found her: she was still laying in her bed asleep. Loki panicked: do I wake her or leave her there? And if I do wake her, how do I go about doing that? He paced around the room for a minute and then came to a conclusion: he would wake her by making a loud sound. He looked around the room again trying to find something heavy that wouldn't break. Eventually he found a small statue of one of the timekeepers. She won't care if I break that, right? He walked over to it and threw it as hard as he could onto the ground. Smash! The statue shattered on contact. Sylvie jolted awake. She looked around frantically to see what the cause of the noise was, then she saw Loki, a tall figure in a hood, staring directly at her.
"Who the h3ll are you!" she yelled while grabbing her sword from the bedside table and pointing it threateningly at him.
"Good morning to you too," Loki commented sarcastically. Sylvie recognized his voice, "Loki! You arse! You gave me a heart attack!" She punched him playfully in the arm. after putting her sword back on the table she asked Loki, "So why do you have... whatever those are on your head?"
"Oh! Ummm... I don't really know," just then Loki realized that Sylvie had blonde cat ears and a tail that matched her hair color. "I would recommend that you take a look in the mirror." Sylvie gave him a puzzled look, but did as he said.
"What the h3ll!" She screamed. She ran over to Loki with her ears down. "What happened to me!? Did you do this!?"
"First of all, calm down. And no I didn't do it." Loki denied.
"Get out, I'm getting changed and then we're going to find Mobius," Sylvie commanded.
"Are you sure I can't stay for that?" Loki asked before walking out of the room smugly. Sylvie just stood there shocked with a pink face, did- did he actually just say that?
