Work Text:
It seemed like every time he finished an essay or assessment there was another one on his laptop or desk waiting to be completed. Now, it's not like he couldn't get through them all rather easily if he really wanted to. But he didn't have the energy these days. It seemed every time he woke up, early in the morning after only a couple hours of sleep (at most) his body felt heavy and his mind blank.

He would love to pinpoint his feelings of dread and emptiness to one factor of his life but he was smart enough to know he couldn't. However. There was one thing that was currently missing from his daily life that was certainly having an effect on his mental health.

That would be a small fierce redhead who he sometimes called his boyfriend. Maybe. Labels were hard and he would hardly call their relationship normal. Chuuya himself was by no means a standard citizen and, Dazai himself was perhaps weirder.

It's why their relationship worked incredibly well sometimes and why others it felt like they bounced off each other like natural enemies. Those times were the hardest as neither were responsible enough to calm the other or apologise. And thus the negative energy lingered until either two things occured:

Something new filled the awkward and tense silences, and the fight was forgotten.

Or they had rough and hateful sex, letting go of their tension in the most delicious (certainly not the most responsible) way.

After their last big fight it was simply forgotten about this time.

Dazai preferred this way. He preferred ignoring his problems and letting them drift to the back of his mind, and he knew Chuuya didn't have the patience or time to deal with little things. Not with his profession. Where Dazai was in his last year of his university course, his partner couldn't have been in a more opposite job.

The boss of a large company, the CEO, the position passed down to him from his father once the man decided it was time to retire and Chuuya lept at the chance to prove his worth. With it came days and nights of limitless work, time where he would be held up in his large office for days on end, fighting to ensure his employees knew exactly who they were dealing with. The company itself had a front in place for the public, though many knew exactly who occupied the building - the mafia. His small chibi boyfriend was in fact the boss of the mafia at the young age of 26 years old.

Just thinking about it made Dazai smile, he pushed away the document in front of him and instead focused on the bright flaming hair of the one he wished was with him right now.

That was probably the main reason as to why all energy had left his lithe body. Right, he hadn't seen Chuuya in around 4 days now. In that time he had finished exactly one paragraph of the assignment he had due the next day. But he couldn't bring himself to finish it, not at least without the encouragement that his partner would usually bring the day before any big paper was due.

However Dazai was alone for the fourth day in a row, and he could feel the fiery feeling of annoyance rise in his veins. Chuuya mustve known what he was up to, and yet he still decided to leave him alone, being selfish and focusing on his own work and leaving Dazai to drown alone. Stupid chibi. Dazai deserved attention and focus and he was going to get it.

One way or another. Dazai smirked as he stood up, throwing on his long tan jacket, grabbing his laptop before leaving their apartment. On his way to his partners workplace where he could finally get what he wants.

.......................

"Chuuuuuuyaaaaaaaa!" His voice drawled throughout the light corridor as he skipped down towards the large office where he spent most of his time whenever he came here. There were many looks and glances sent his way as there always is, the employees knowing who he was yet he was still shrouded in mystery. No one was entirely sure who the tall handsome brunette was to the boss, but they knew not to lay a finger on him. As Dazai skipped, he stopped by the large desk just outside the double doors and grinned at the receptionist. "My dear Gin! How are you? Chibi keeping you busy?" He threw his body over the desk, arching his back and smirking.
