A Night Time Visit
I sat in my bedroom window staring out across Piltover. The night sky lit up with thousands of small lights all sparkling brightly down at the world below them. Not a cloud in sight.
'There is something so calming yet so lonely about the night sky' I thought to myself.
I open the window to let a breeze gently flow through my room. I take a deep breath of fresh air feeling soothed the wind. My worries being carried far away.
The outside world is quiet expect for the faint rustling of leaves. Most of the city is asleep at this time making it the perfect time to relax and enjoy a book.
My music box plays softly in the background, helping to set the perfect mood for some reading.
I get up from my place next to the window and head towards the shelf lined with a small collection of books. Before I get chance to grab a book, I hear a small noise coming from outside.
My curiosity kicks in and I run over to the open window. Hoping to catch whatever made the peculiar sound, I stick my head out of the window.
I get caught off guard when I'm met with a pair of greyish blue eyes.
Startled by the sudden appearance of eyes in front of me, I jump back. "Jesus Christ!" I exclaim while trying to calm myself. I look back at the window to see my friend nervously rubbing the back of her neck.
"Sorry I scared you Y/N." Vi looks at me with a small smile. She reminds me of a teenager who's just been caught sneaking back into her home after a night out.
I smile at her. "It's okay Vi. You don't need to look like a naughty teenager though. I'm not your parent." I hold my hand out for her to take. "But Vi, what are you doing crawling through my window like some knight in shining armour about to rescue a princess?" Vi takes my hand and I pull her into the room.
Her hands are quite warm. I almost wish I could stay holding them. My hands are always frozen so the warmth is very welcome. None the less I let go once she's safely inside.
"You always say the weirdest things." She replies. I can tell she loves my dramatic way of speaking really. The slight smile she's trying to hide is enough evidence to support my claim. "And you always do the weirdest of things." I fire back at. "So, what brings you to my humble abode so late in the night?" I ask, one of my brows arching ever so slightly.
She sits down in front of the window before answering. "Is it wrong to want to see my friend?" She's dodging the question. I debate pushing for the real answer but decide to leave it.
I can't deny I'm happy to see her. It has been awhile since I felt this comfortable in the presence of someone else. It makes me wonder if she feels the same way.
"I suppose not." I say and shrug. Vi visibly relaxes at my none nonchalant response. "But." Vi tenses up again and I can't lie, I enjoy messing with her. "You did interrupt my reading session." I cross my arms over my chest and wait for her response. Vi once again relaxes. She lets out a small laugh which fills my heart with warmth. I can't act disappointed for long as a smile graces my lips.
"Sorry princess. I guess I'll just have to make it up to you." Vi has started calling me princess as of late. At first I made fun of her but now I just accept it. I have to admit, it's quite cute.
