her lips were pressed together and her cheeks were still painted a faint red. she was embarrassed of the small run in she had with soohee. she was undoubtedly flustered and she knew that the conversation was loud enough that the people in the store probably though of her bad.
she made sure the check out process was quick and easy minus the small moment of awkwardness when her and hyungwon silently fought about who would pay. him ultimately winning by tapping his phone.
they still remained quiet, because he knew nari and nari liked silence sometimes to process things. usually she'd get upset, and we'll cry. but today it was different. she stood up for herself, spoke her truth and walked away.
no tears.
he was proud of her. he knew nari was trained to keep quiet, to suppress her feelings, and feel helpless and useless. that's why she'd cry because she had no other way to state her opinions.
hyungwon gently reached over and took her hand in his own as they walked on the sidewalk.
her pressed lips purse as she lets out a soft sigh, before looking over towards him, "i'm sorry."
"for?" he knew she had no reason to apologize. no reason to say anything about the situation.
"that," she mutters looking down, "it was embarrassing. all of seoul doesn't need to know our drama."
"well your husband is well known, and his family owns a big named company na," he sighs. "it's bound to come up."
she nods knowing very well that the song's were well known but at the same time it wasn't anyone's business. she was dealing with a lot at this moment. "do you want to go to the restaurant and wait for them there?" she asks it's about 20 minutes till 5 and they were near the the restaurant.
"yeah we can do that," he responds to her knowing fully well that nari did not want to talk about what had happened. she simply nodded as they walked in the brisk wind.
he looks to her again as he lets her hand go opening the door for her.
it wasn't long till the couple were seated next to each other at the table, awaiting his friends.
silence between them wasn't new but this time it was deafening. he could tell she wasn't comfortable after the situation. that she was upset about it.
she had pressed her lips to the wine glass taking a sip and he watched her. careful not to stare too long. "na if you want to go we can go home. i know hyunwoo would understand."
she glanced to him shaking her head slightly, "i'm fine." she says to him with a small smile. even though he knew she was not fine.
"ok." he responds. "i love you." he says reassuringly reaching over and gently squeezes her hand.
"i know." she smiles at him. "i'm fine wonnie. really."
"i just want to make sure, love."
she nods, "i appreciate it."
he leans over and gently kisses her cheek.
"cute," hyunwoo teases her.
the couple look up and see hyunwoo pulling out the chair for a beautiful petite woman, with shoulder length black hair. "sorry i can't stand for too long, hi hyungwon and you must be-"
"nari," hyungwon responds. "saeron, this is my girlfriend nari, nari this is hyunwoo's wife."
nari smiles at her, "hello, nice to meet you." she reaches her hand out and they both exchanged a handshake as hyunwoo has his seat next to his wife.
