Reign
April 2, 1099-May 9, 1110A large group of Chinese people leaving China for having converted to Christianity through unknown means have made there way to Jerusalem and have fought and died to establish a Kingdom. The father of the current King, Chen Shang (read Shang Chen) was killed in the decisive battle for Jerusalem against the Sultanate of Egypt. His son, Chen Shuji became King of Jerusalem. He would go one to wage war with a small Emirate in the North that he would give to the Knights Templar. He then sent a letter to the Emperor of China requesting to marry one of the Emperor's Daughters, the Emperor agreed to it and his Daughter, Zhao Ruoxin would later arrive in Jerusalem. Soon enough the first heir of the Chen dynasty was born her name Chen Ruoxin.
The Pope has called all Catholic Kingdoms to war against Egypt which was currently ruled by the Fatimid Caliphate. The Kingdom of Jerusalem joined quickly and showed the Christian and Muslim nations why it was so powerful having claimed many victories against the Caliphate.
The Kingdom of Egypt would be liberated and put under the rule of King Chen Shuji now known as King Chen Shuji 'the Glorious'.
Chen Ruoxin, Princess of Jerusalem when the King looked in her eyes he saw that his daughter was destined for greatness, his thoughts were more confirmed when the very much still a baby had managed to strangle a snake that had gotten into her crib.
The King has also heard word of invaders from other worlds. Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and the Cat like people known as the Cathrians.
In 1101, King Chen Shuji decided he wanted to study the faith and joined the Benedictine Order. The having received word that the Holy Roman Empire had set up an Anti-Pope he decided to take his army to the HRE and depose the Anti-Pope.
Several other Christian nations joined the cause those being: Venice, the Papacy, Genoa, Denmark, and Hungary. The War would be known as the First Antipapal War.During the war a group of Cathrians set themselves up in a part of Egypt. When the King was informed of the he allowed them to stay. Whether they would be a problem is the future has yet to be seen.
Eventually the Jerusalemite army would arrive in the Province of Pettau. Sieging down the provinces holdings before moving on North. The First battle of the war would be the battle of Babenburg, but it was a one sided battle as the Holy Roman army was small. The War would end up being mostly the large army of Jerusalem defeating smaller Holy Roman forces. The only 'large' battle would be the battle of Walbeck but the Holy Roman army only numbered in the 5000s. The King of Jerusalem would try to duel the Duke of Nordgau, but one of his men, Yuchi Wei took up the challenge and defeated the Duke himself. Eventually the Holy Roman Emperor, Kaiser Heinrich IV realized the war was hopeless and gave up.
King Chen Shuji then went into seclusion to study the faith and thanks to this he had become temperate. Then he received word that his Chief Minister had managed to get him a claimant on the Duchy of Cyprus. Knowing this his armies were once again called against an Empire, this time against the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantines were now outmatched as they were already fighting to hold off a Jihad, and now the armies of Jerusalem were coming to fight them.
The Battle of Kotiaion was were the Jerusalem army faced the Byzantine Army and King Shuji would lead them to a decisive victory over the Empire. The Empire gave them Cyprus in order to not have to fight them and the King accepted it.
After the war the Hospitalars asked if they could have Cyprus and the King accepted. This the Hospitalars we're renamed the Knights of Cyprus.
