✦ ──𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐄 goes like this;
Asteria realises that someone has washed up on her island. It takes no more than a wave of her right hand for her to materialise on the sandy shore, where the sound of crashing waves overlap with the helpless cries of a body that is under the beam of a suspiciously convenient ray of moonlight.
Asteria never let's anyone visit the island, much less stepping foot in it. The wards drawn on all four corners of the desolate piece of land in the middle of the vast sea of Grior make sure of this, and in the rare cases that they fail to work, she uses the little knowledge of witchcraft her mother left her when she was younger to conceal any signs of life from the people who hail from the mainland.
Now, this situation is one she had never expected to happen in all her seventeen summers. As far as she knows, the wards are working perfectly, and the animals that live all around should have brought her a warning that someone was approaching the island. This shouldn't have happened, but clearly, the Universe thought otherwise of it.
"Help-help me, please," comes the whispered plea of whoever this person is. Asteria takes cautious steps forward, and the convenient moonlight allows her to see who it was.
Her skin is blue, a darker shade than the one Asteria sees in the mid day sky, and her hair is long and curly and stark white. She's lying on her side and her wet hair sticks on the side of her face that faces Asteria. She's wearing a tattered green dress that shimmers in the moonlight, and when the ocean breeze sweeps over them, she shivers horribly.
Asteria questions every single life choice she had ever made up until this moment, because against her principles-the very principles that have kept her safe from harm and most of all, alive- she casts a simple warming charm on this shivering- probably dying- girl and picks her up and drags her bodily all the way to her cave.

Of course, this doesn't leave her unscathed, because suddenly, there is a sliver of blood dripping from her finger onto the earthen floor.
