Friends, Lacrosse Games, and Confrontations
Crystal looked up from the homework she was working on as Ash entered the house, looking completely worn out. She smirked when she realized that he had no clue that she and her friends were all sitting at the table, watching him as he made his way towards the stairs. Ash had just put his right foot on the first step when he froze, his shoulders slumping slightly as he released a deep sigh and slowly turned around to face them.
Crystal laughed at the sheepish expression that crossed his face. Even though she was mad at him didn't mean she couldn't laugh at him. Plus, this would give her an excuse to find out where he had been. He wouldn't blow her off when there were witnesses.
"Hey Ash, where have you been?"
"Helping some friends out. What are you doing?" Ash asked, as he walked over to the table and sat down next to Crystal's dirty blonde haired friend, expertly answering the question without giving too much away.
"We're working on some homework for Chemistry," Crystal told him, gesturing to the Chemistry books that were spread out on the table. She struggled to restrain her frustration, knowing now was not a good time to get into it with Ash.
"Sounds like fun," Ash remarked sarcastically, earning a small smile from the tired looking young woman next to him. "Speaking of fun things to do, Isaac?"
The taller lacrosse player practically jumped out of his chair when Ash said his name. "Y-yeah?"
"You ready for the game tonight?" Ash asked, leaning back in his chair as he spoke, ignoring the glare he knew Crystal was sending him.
"I guess," Isaac answered, not sounding too confident.
"You don't sound that confident."
Isaac shrugged. "I'm not as great as you or Jackson, but I can still play."
"You want to practice together sometime? I could help you get better, if you want," Ash offered, earning a surprised look from Isaac, and a slightly grateful one from Crystal. No matter how hard she tried to convince Isaac that he was good, and just needed to practice a little more, he didn't seem to believe her.
"Yeah, that'd be great," Isaac agreed, a small smile crossing his face.
"Alright, here, let me give you my number so we can schedule a time. Do you want to practice here or at your house?" Ash asked as he pulled out his phone, not noticing the alarmed look that crossed Isaac's features at the mention of Ash coming over to his house, unlike Crystal who did.
"W-we can do it here," Isaac answered, handing his phone to the older teen as Ash handed Isaac his phone.
"I look forward to it," Ash told him with a smile as they exchanged phones again. He turned to look at the two other sophomores who had been quietly observing their conversation. "And I don't think I caught your names..."
"Ash, meet Erica and Boyd. Erica and Boyd, this is my brother Ash," Crystal introduced them, smirking when she saw Erica's face turn a light shade of red as Ash looked at her and the light blue jacket wearing teen sitting next to Erica. She was going to have fun with that, especially teasing her oblivious brother.
"Nice to meet you, Erica, Boyd," Ash told them, smiling brightly.
"Nice to meet you too," the dark haired, brown eyed teen sitting between Erica and Crystal answered, returning Ash's smile.
"N-nice to meet you," Erica said quietly, her face turning a darker shade of red when she saw Ash's smile.
"You guys coming to the game?" Ash asked them, trying to make conversation.
