Chapter 20.-" Give something and you can get something else of equal value "

Nicole's POV:

It's dark. Cold. I'm falling, I can't feel anything but numbness and emptiness.. and then, I feel something warm holding me close. I realize I can open my eyes, and when I do, I see my power itself. "What are you doing, ain't I dead? ", I ask him and attempt to move away from him, but he's holding me too tight, his white bangs covering his eyes and his lip trembling. " Are you.. crying-", " How could you go there all by yourself, you idiot!! ", he yelled and I flinched. It's my first time seeing him this way, since he started getting into my dreams after that night at the bridge.

"I'm sorry, I just got carried away- ", I tried to find a way out of this but it wasn't quite working, he started sobbing. Seeing that white haired boy, who found a way into my heart so easily, crying was the most heartbreaking scene I've ever witnessed ever in my life. He looked so innocent and.. broken.

" You can't die. I promised I would keep you safe, I failed! ", he kept murmuring on and on and when I had enough I lifted my right hand up and let it collide with his cheek, causing him to lift his head up and red puffy eyes with huge tears rolling down his face could be seen. " You didn't fail. I failed. I was the one who let this happen, you couldn't do anything, could you? " I stroked his cheek I hit seconds ago, but he just grimaced and put his hand on my stomach where was the only place I could feel pain at the moment. I looked down at it and saw.. blood. A lot, a lot of blood.

" Oh my God! ", I yelped and removed his hand as he was hurting me even more by touching it. " Ain't I dead? What the hell is that?! ", I was getting really confused by all of this. Add the fact that we're in the middle of no where, only darkness all around us, and you might understand why I'm starting to panic. " You're not dead... yet", he said and I looked at him even more confused. " I was sent here to offer you a choice ". He wiped his tears away and looked at me with determination it his eyes. "You can still live, or you can die. Your choice ", he said and I tilted my head. " And if I say I want to live we're just going to teleport right back? Just like that? ". He shook his head and took a deep breath, obviously preparing to tell me something very important.

" I have to give up my own life to save yours"

Yusei's POV:

" We got it all planned out to this point and that is nice, but what now? ", I asked everyone as we stood in front of the Company where Nicole is right now. " Well.. I haven't thought so far.. ", Autumn laughed awkwardly and Sarah glared at her. " Tell me again why did we listen to you at all? ". Autumn glared back, it was like there were bolts coming out of their eyes. " Shut your mouth or I'll shut it for you- ", " Okay that's quite enough guys, don't ya think? ", Hannah got in between them and they looked other ways, sulking like kids. " Let's just go inside, yeah? Seems like a good idea to me ", I said and started walking towards the doors, already starting to get annoyed by all this. " Okay, okay ", and off we went. As soon as we approached the doors I got a wave of a bad feeling, like something terrible just happened (A/N That was at the time Nicole got stabbed).

We pushed the door open, beat up some guards, and finally got to the doors with a "Director" sign on them. " Get ready guys ", I whispered and they nodded at me, and I brought the doors down, running in. I was totally not ready for what I saw in there. " No, tell me this is a lie, please, I'm dreaming! ", I tried to persuade myself but no matter how many times I blinked the scene was always the same, and Nicole's lifeless looking body laid there in a pool of blood.

Nicole's POV:

I looked at him stunned, " You're joking, right? ", I was really hoping he was, but all my hopes came crashing down when he shook his head, " I'm dead serious, Nicole ". I started shaking my head and my eyes widened as I took his hands in mine, but he refused to look at me. " You're not doing it, do you hear me?! I don't care if I die, you aren't going to give up on your own life because of me- ",

" And what kind of a life do I have anyways? I don't.. have a life like you do. My so called 'life' was meant for this from the beginning ", tears started falling from my eyes as I realized he had already decided. " There si no way i can change your mind? ", I whispered and he sent me a broken smile, but for the first time, he looked truly happy, like he wasn't aware of the fact that he was going to die soon.

" Your powers will stay as they are.. ", he lifted up my hand and kissed it, " Goodbye, Nicole ". With that being said, everything went white and I opened my eyes just to see complete chaos.

Fire and water everywhere, and a sound of guns firing. I got aware of a tight embrace I was in and realized that Yusei was hugging me. " Yusei.. ", I mumbled out weekly and his eyes widened, looking down at me and then he grinned and started crying from happiness because I was alive. " Nicole! You're alright! ", I nodded but my eyes widened as I heard a scream come from somewhere near us. I looked at where the sound was coming from and saw Autumn being held in the air by him of all people.

I got so angry, I pushed Yusei away from me and my hair and torn up cape were flying around because of the intensity of my power. " Leave her alone!!! ", I yelled and threw everything I had at him, stabbing him in his chest, taking him by surprise, and landing on top of him as he fell down with a growl. " What you- should be dead! ", I screamed and stabbed him ten.. no... more and more and more times before he couldn't move anymore.

Then I started crying and breaking down as Yusei came to me slowly and Autumn watched me in shock. He pulled me close to him and tried to calm me down as the battle was coming to an end.

" Goodbye, I'll never forget you "

When I started writing this, I never knew it would end up like this, I swear!

But I like it :D

There will probably be one filler (From Nicole to Yusei) and an epilogue :)
