It's one of those silent nights again, the Halls of Shadows seem even darker and uncanny these times. One only could hear the water drops falling out of the rusting drains, onto the cold stone ground.

Evarys takes a walk along the sewers, as a faint light on the ground grabs his attention. The flickering comes from under the slot of a hidden door, disguised as a bookshelf. The entrance to the meeting chambers.

Pulling the lever next to it, the rogue gingerly enters and follows down the stairs. The temperature dropped drastically, and a shiver runs down his spine. Soft light of a few lit candles enhance the abstract structure of the stone walls.

A woman dressed in red, sitting at the table reading a book, catches Evarys' eyes. «Lady Sanguinar, I thought you were on a mission in Aszuna. Have you forgotten to bring your precious blades?", the bloodelf rogue asks impudently with a sly grin. The cover of the book bears the title "Fatal poisons". Puzzled and torn out of her concentration, she faces Evarys who's standing next to her, crossing his arms.

Sarcastically she laughs: "Ha ha. Better watch your sass mouth, Direwright. I've been learning about different kinds of poisons and toxins. You don't want one of my precious blades, coated in highly potent poisons, stuck in your back, do you?" In a swift swing she pulls out one of her daggers and balances it on her finger, raising her eyebrow at Evarys.

Smirking he takes a step closer to her. "Oh no, I'm shivering in my boots.", he chuckles as he nonchalantly tightens the wristbands of his bracers, looking at her with a glint of playfulness in his eyes.

Not sure of how she should respond to his reaction, Valeera's emerald eyes flutter and a mild blush spreads over her cheek. A warm feeling makes itself vacant inside her chest. Without a comment she clears her throat and lays aside the blade: "However, what brings you here that late of night? Most of the shadows should be roaming the darkness at his time." – "Don't turn the tables on me, Valeera."

Pouting, the woman finally closes her book and crosses her arms. "Oh, by fel's sake. I- the client...didn't show up at the rendezvous point...", she mumbles crossly to the answer awaiting Evarys. Leaning over her shoulder and hovering next to her ear he scoffs: "I love it when your nose wrinkles everytime you lie." – "You- how dare you think I'm lying, you little-" Outraged, Valeera gives the rogue a punch into his side, which he reacts to dramatically, throwing himself in an aching position and groaning in pain.

After that short session of roughhousing, the two bloodelves, both slightly flustered, come back to their senses. "You're a terrible actor, Direwright." – "Oh I wasn't acting" pausing midsentence, Evarys rubs the spot where Valeera left a set of knuckles "this was genuine pain."

In disbelief she shakes her head, but couldn't help but smile and giggles while getting off the chair and turns to the bad actor: "Now I know how you would react to a dagger in your back." – "Always those assumptions."

The two get closer to each other, their eyes fixated on one another. The lady points at her own face, signalling Evarys' about his mask: "Have you-" Valeera's behaviour shows that shyness took over, her hands not knowing where to go: "thought of taking off the mask...ever? For anyone you know?"

Though the black piece of cloth covers half of the blood elf's face, one still can see a hint of red rising up his skin. Scratching the back of his head, Evarys chuckles: "Well, I never had the reason to. I've been considering it, but...I just..."

Silence grew over the hall. Candle smoke wafting above their heads and the scent leaving a pleasant spicy note in the air. Every detail of this moment is being rolled like a film in their minds. Nothing else matters, only this moment.

While Valeera reaches out for Evarys' mask, the sound of the hidden door opening makes them flinch. "Jorach...", she gasps and vanishes into the nothingness. "Hide!" – "What?", Lady Sanguinar loses her patience and whispers forcefully; "Evarys!"

Following her order, he also melts into the shadows. "Why are we doing this again?", the blood elf asks placing himself besides her and laying his hand on her back; "Was I right about your cute little wrinkle nose?", he scoffs. The only words that went through Valeera's mind were "cocky bastard". Confessing she sighs lightly: "Alright fine...the mission failed and Jorach shouldn't know about this."

Lord Ravenholdt enters the meeting hall, taking a good look around and makes his way to the bookshelf filled with candleholders on top. "What an unacceptable thing to do, Lady Sanguinar." Evarys straightens his back and props his hands on his hips, imitating to be Jorach, trying to hold in his laugh.

Valeera rolls her eyes and shakes her head, but still smiling by the sight of the rogue making a fool of himself: "You should've taken the job as a jester." – "Hey, as long as I can see you smile, it's worth every joke."

In the background, Jorach is still browsing through the books and opens one book after the other, seemingly he did not take notice of the two elves lurking in the corner.

In thoughts, Valeera turns to Evarys and gazes at him, giving him a soft smile that spread across her luscious lips. Her long blonde hair flowing down her neck and chest. Those emerald eyes that pierce right through his. She takes his breath away.

Almost automatically his fingers pull down the mask, leaving the lady speechless: "To fel with this mask." Bracing her cheek softly he leans in closer: "You didn't run away screaming yet..." – "Not yet, but-" Valeera approaches him aswell, chuckling; "You still look like a clown."

Though saying those words, she didn't think of him as such. Long black hair, lips, parting like a loose bow, that just has launched it's arrow. The green in his one functioning eye almost bores into her soul. Despite him being of meaker stature than some, his lean figure makes his appearance more appealing to her.

Now forehead to forehead, joy overcomes them. This moment once more, their breaths heavy, their hearts beating in sync. The world has gone silent for a split second. "Then I hope Lady Sanguinar is pleased with my-", interrupted by Valeera's finger on his lips, Evarys is taken aback and even more flustered than before, his pulse rising stagnantly.

The mouth that so impudently teased the lady and couldn't stop longing for her lips, now finally was sealed with hers. His mind went blank, her mind went numb. Evarys' hands wrapping around her back and waist, gently caressing her. Valeera must concentrate on not letting her voice weaken, her body giving in to his warm touch.

As the kiss broke, their chests elevating and eyes nearly blinded by their senses, the only thing Evarys gets to say is: "Talking too much, got it."

With the books in hand, that he took off the shelf, Jorach makes his way back out again. A few steps before he reached the door, he paused: "When you two lovebirds are finally done here, please go help out with the gold storage of the vault, the goblin wants it rebuilt and enlarged before the next treasure hunt." – "Shit" Valeera cussed in embarrassment: "How did he-".
