TRIGGER WARNING (not so much for this part, but later on)

The song finished on the radio and Mitch sighed.
'Come on, Scott!' he yelled into his best friend's room, 'Check up at Dr Wiseman's before tour, remember? Half an hour across town in twenty minutes. Move your a*s!'
Scott emerged from his room looking hot as usual.
'Sorry,' he muttered, adjusting his hat and smiling apologetically, 'I was Skyping Alex.'
'Come on!'

They hopped into the car and drove the ten minutes to Kirstie's where Avi and Kevin had agreed to meet them. Esther had demanded that they all had a huge completely everything ever doctors appointment before the 2016 tour to avoid any problems. On the On My Way Home tour, Scott had been ill a lot and they'd had to cut a couple of songs from a few of the shows, and there was no chance that Avi's hilarious and kind but formidable sister was going to let that happen a second time.

Kirstie, Avi and Kevin were waiting outside the apartment building when they pulled up.
'Late, boys?' Kirstie asked playfully, clambering in, 'Honestly.'
Mitch rolled his eyes. 'Shut up!'
Kirstie pulled a mock horrified expression. 'How dare you!' She said as Avi and Kevin swung themselves into the back, 'You're not allowed to be mean to me today. It's our anniversary.'
'Not really, Kirst,' Avi laughed, pecking her on the cheek.
'Ten months!' said Kirstie in a slightly whiny tone, 'That's an anniversary. Sort of. Well, it's good enough to use as an excuse for Mitch not to bully me.'
'I don't bully you!' retorted Mitch from the front passenger seat, 'Don't be an idiot, Kirstin!'
Avi rolled his eyes and grinned.

Seven Beyoncé songs and a lot of traffic later they were only a few minutes late and they pulled up outside the clinic. Scott, Mitch and Kevin made their way into Dr Wiseman's room and Avi and Kirstie went into Dr Green's.

Half an hour later, Avi and Kirstie emerged from the room to find Mitch and Kevin in the waiting room.
'Scott's tests will just be five minutes,' Mitch smiled. 'I asked for us all to get them together.'
Avi nodded and Kirstie smiled, and they sat down in the chairs next to their bandmates. Even though there were only five minutes, they dragged on into eternity.

After the endless six and a half minutes Scott too emerged from the room. 'They're bringing our results.'

'Alright, hi there,' said the annoyingly perky Dr Wiseman, appearing from her room followed by Dr Green, 'Okay, here you go.'

She handed them all their envelopes. They smiled and thanked them and left, ready to open them in the car. Climbing in, they all ripped them open and scanned them.
'I'm good!' said Kevin and Avi simultaneously.
'Same girls,' Mitch smiled, shoving the single sheet back in.
Scott and Kirstie stayed silent.
'All okay, you two?' Kevin asked, resealing his envelope.
They both nodded silently, pale.
'What's the matter?'
'I... I'm pr... pregnant.' Kirstie stammered. 'Oh my...' She suddenly broke into a grin, 'Guys, I'm pregnant! Avi! We're...'
He cut her off with a long kiss. Squeals from Kevin and Mitch soon filled the car, but Scott remained silent.
Whilst the noise from the back still filled the car, Mitch turned to his best friend. 'All okay, Shelley?'
Scott stared at him and handed him the stack of paperwork in his file.

It was Mitch's turn to go pale.
