(God, I wish that were me 😩👆)

Today is a very special day, it's Bonham and Abby's 40th anniversary. Cordell, Liam, the kids, and I were all planning to make today extra special for them. Starting things off by cooking them breakfast.

"Whoa. What's going? What is this?" Bonham asks as he and his wife came down the stairs. "40 years. We're celebrating." Cordell replied, holding up a glass jar full of scarlet sage.

"Is that scarlet sage?" Abby asked, smiling at the herb which is one of her favorites. "Sure is." Cordell replied. "I loved how it grew wild near the porch at home." Abby said, fondly smiling at the plant.

"Where do you think we got it? Little anniversary trespassing." August said, smirking. "He's kidding." Stella said, then turns her brother. "You are, right?"

"Okay, scooch. I mean, this all looks beautiful, but, uh, we're a little particular about our bacon." Abby said, glancing at her husband as she takes the tongs from Stella. "No, Mama, please, go and relax outside. We know how Dad likes bacon." Liam said as he and his brother broke out into a chuckle.

"Why don't we get you situated outside?" I suggested. "Outside." Cordell said as we all ushered Abby and Bonham to eat outside on the patio. "Make 'em happy. Go outside. Come on." Bonham said to his wife.

"Go, the two of you. Happy anniversary." Cordell said as August carried the food outside for them while the rest of us hanged back in the kitchen. "Thank you very much. Y'all are the best." Bonham said. "It's very sweet." Abby said. "I guess." Bonham grumbled.

"Let's go." August said, setting the food down on the table. "Thanks." Bonham said. "Thank you, Augie." Abby said, taking a seat. "Is anyone else getting cold feet?" Stella asks as we turn away from the window. "Mawline seemed a little bit..." She mutters.

"Trust me, after all they've gone through lately..." Cordell said, stopping himself as August came back inside. "All right. Enjoy." He said to his grandparents. "...getting showered with love is exactly what Mama needs right now. Uh, let's just go over the plan again." Cordell said.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm-I'm gonna get the bubbly." Liam said, right as we heard a phone chime and Cordell took out his phone. "Trey actually told me about a place here in town that deals rare wines, so... He's in Vegas with his mom, but..." Liam said as I accidentally caught sight of Cordell's message that was telling him that Twyla hearted a text he had sent her that said: Good luck on your first day!

Right... Twyla Jean. One of the bank robbers apart of the Rodeo Kings. From what little Cordell shared with me, she basically got put into debt by her ex-husband. So she resorted to a bank robbery to get out debt.

Cordell and her ended up having a physical relationship while he was undercover as Duke. He never shared with me if he actually had romantic feelings for her and truth be told, I don't think even he knows if there were feelings there.

But there's no denying that she was what he needed after the lost of Emily. She help keep his head above water so-to-speak and stopped him from losing his humanity.

Their relationship seem to come to an end when Cordell went back undercover as Duke again. Drawing her out of hiding and finding the stolen money, right before he faked his death.

Until he went to visit her in prison, to get her help in finding Clint West. Cordell promised to come and check in on her from time to time and she told him that Clint and his wife had a kid, who turn out to be Trevor.

Well Cordell didn't keep his promise and he never saw Twyla again until she was brought in to help with another case, involving Twyla's ex-husband, Eric Davies.
