"Woah..." I looked at down, not wanting to meet his gaze.
"I know I'm not allowed to touch you, so I won't. Just... please come inside" he said, he was always so worried.
I don't know why I did this to him, stood outside his home in complete silence as I knocked on the door, trying to ignore the pain in my body and metallic smell. I went inside, surprised that I was still able to walk or maybe it was just my mind that was tired of laying on the cold concrete...
I could hear him walking around, probably looking for something. I heard him curse under his breath as a glass bottle fell to floor. The loud noise startled me and just like a wave, my body started shaking. It started at my right hand, making it twitch uncomfortably. I could feel the violent shaken move up towards my shoulder and then moved on the rest of my body, the worst part was when it came to my neck. Everything would happen so quickly and suddenly it was like I couldn't control anything. I would move my head to side, feel how tense my neck suddenly became, then I would notice it as it looked like everything around me was shaken. It would end with a sound of a crack before I was able to gain control again.
".....I'm sorry" he sounded so sad, as he walked over to me in a slow pace. I took my jacket off and sat down on the nearby couch. I would always do this, come to his house, not tearing me eyes of the floor as I wouldn't speak.
"May I?" he asked and placed the items he previously had in his hands on the small table in front of me. Always the same things, a first aid kit and a wet towel. I shrugged, no longer cared. He would always ask anyway, but he should know the answer by now. It was all a routine, I closed my eyes before tilting head upwards.
He used the towel to remove the slightly dried blood from my face and then my hands, I never felt the feeling of his hands directly touching my skin. I liked how he respected my rules and accepted the way I acted.
"You have a bit on your neck, you should probably do that yourself" He then handed me the towel. I hated physical contact, I usually didn't mind it when it was people I trusted, but when I am in this state, no one should even be near me.
I was just completely numb, but would freak out as soon as someone laid a finger on me. I could felt it burn as he dabbed something on the wounds, I flinched a bit.
"Sorry, should've warned you" He sighed.
"Is anything broken or unbearable to walk around with?" I heard he walked out of the room to put the things away. I shook my head in response when he came back, I kept eyes closed and sat there, waiting for the adrenaline to wore off.
After some time had passed, I could hear the table making a sound in protest as something heavy was placed upon it. Judging by the sound of someone breathing, I knew he was sitting on it.
"Angel?" I didn't reply, I never knew where that nickname even came from. I was no angel, I was a broken soul, placed on this earth because someone needed a part of that shitty life no-one wanted.
"Cathrine?" He now used my name, I rarely hear it as people always wanted to call me something else.
I went through every rule I had made in my head so far, I relaxed my shoulders, letting them fall down to a more natural level. Made my hands let go of my shirt and placed them in my lap and then opened my eyes, looking straight into his. I knew things about body language, I didn't wanted to look violent, nervous or anything so I made sure I looked more relaxed when I was near people, and my most important rule was always to look them in the eyes. It was more out of respect I did it, even though it sometimes scared people when I would look someone in the eyes because it made me seem stronger. I also liked the benefit of it, if you always looked someone in the eyes, you could tell more about that person and you wouldn't judge them on their clothes or anything.
