My forgotten loves

We had been a single soul with two hearts for so long
The day we separated back to our own bodies something broke inside me
It created cracks and fissures
Leaving me vulnerable to the heartbreak seeping into my body
Slowly that sorrow changed to love
But not for another person but all of the pieces I had forgotten about myself
I had morphed into a single being with you that I had forgotten the joy sparked in my eyes when I was home alone, dancing with the music much too loud
And the special smile that only watching crazy shows or baking which you could not bear gave me
I was slowly filling my life with all of my forgotten loves
