Chapter I - Empty Bed

AL's POV
It's 6 o'clock am. I turned to the right side of my bed to see the beauty sleeping next to me. Her long hair, fair skin, thick eye lashes and that angel face that I could stare forever. I still couldn't believe I'm dating Hailee Steinfeld. I call her love or baby as our endearment. Mostly I call her love.

My name is Al Hoffman, I'm 26 , I run a construction company since I'm an engineer and I've been dating Hailee for a year now. I designed my own modern house in New Jersey and it's not hard to build it since I have my own construction company. We decided live at my home just 3 months ago and we share everything we have to each other.

I got up and kissed her forehead then I left for work.
I arrived at my office where all my employees greeted me. Believe me my work was very stressful lucky to have my girlfriend that I can open up my problems with. I sat down on my chair put my phone on silent mode and checked some building plans that I didn't even know where to began since blueprints were scattered all over my table. 4 hours passed and I thought of taking a break and opened my iphone. Damn there were 4 missed calls from Hailee , so I decided to call her back.

It took only 2 rings before she answered.
"Hey love" Hailee greeted. " Hi love, sorry I didn't wake you up before I left, I just don't want to disturb your sleep since you went home late from your taping." I replied.
"That's okay. I just called cause I've missed you." She said. Gosh her angelic voice when she said that always gave me butterflies and I missed her too a lot. It woke me up and realize we haven't went out on a date because of our busy schedule.
" I've missed you too my love. Well since tomorrow is your day off how about I take you out.?" I asked.
" Are you sure? It's not even your off tomorrow. " she replied worriedly , she knew how dedicated I am with my work. "Don't worry about it Okay.I want to spend time with you."I replied. " Well okay then." She happily said. "Alright so I'll see you later when I get home?." I replied. " Okay love." She replied.
" I love you love." I said. "I love you too love" she answered then she hung up. I feel terrible right now.

Hailee's POV

I woke up without my boyfriend Al beside me. As usual he always left early for work. It's not that I didn't  want him working it's just that we barely had time with each other. Al and I have been together for a year. He was so busy with his company and me with my career in acting and singing. We lived together in New Jersey and lucky me I have a 2 year contract taping at the place for my upcoming show so it became easy for me , no need to drive miles. We weren't that kind of couple who flaunts everything about their relationship on social media. We kept it private but never a secret.

Al is a very charming, sweet and caring boyfriend. He also has this shyness in him that I find really cute and attractive. Everytime he wrapped his arms around and held me ,I felt love, security and safe in his arms. Both of our parents knew about us and they accepted us being together.

I have 2 days off and I can't wait for our date tomorrow. We've been pretty busy lately but who cares ,  Al wanted to spend time with me and I wanted to spend time with him as well. I was sitting on the couch while listening to " I wish you love me by Nightly " and scrolling through my instagram just to kill the time.

Late afternoon , I checked my phone and I got no messages from Al. " He must be really busy huh." I murmured to myself. So I decided to make him dinner . I went to the kitchen and checked for the available ingredients . We have lasagna pasta and sauce which could be enough for the both of us. Al's favorite is beef lasagna so I'm pretty good at making it. This could help relax his mind after his 8 hours of work. I'm pretty sure he is really exhausted. I simply set up our dinner table for two to  and a bottle of wine to make it a little romantic . He'll love this.
