School is over and it's now Friday. Kurt rarely comes to school anymore and told me he 'walks around Aberdeen instead'.
I sit down on a stool in the kitchen reading the end of Dracula with The Beatles faintly playing in the background. Oh how I love solitude on Friday evenings with nothing to worry about. I can't even concentrate on reading, I'm constantly thinking about Kurt. Shelley told me today that Kurt doesn't think I love him like he does. Hearing this broke my heart because he somehow doesn't understand how lovable he really is. But that's Kurt, his modesty was just another element of his perfection.
I stare at the island and start to feel paranoid, like I'm being watched. I turn around to see bright blue eyes right in front of me - face to face. He bursts out laughing. I smile. I was about to turn around and continue reading until I remember what Shelley said.
I didn't realize how emotionally detached I could be - even to those who I love immensely.
"Sorry." he laughs .
"What are you up to today?" I ask .
"I wanted to bring you to the cinema. " he says sweetly.
"Now?"
"Yeah "
"Why weren't you at school today " I ask.
"I got up really late and walked around town for a while"
"Oh. Should we get going?" I ask.
"Yeah." he takes my hand as I get off the stool.
