"big changes happen in such little time." thats what my mother used to tell me... before she betrayed me. she threw me out of our homeland and left me to die alone. i wandered through countless lands, ones that were cold, ones that were warm. i crossed the sea to islands of paradise but came back because i realised paradise wasn't for me. i joined the fatui, killed a bunch of people and almost became a god. it was all because of them. them meaning my mother; others i met on my journey and 'friends' who would later betray me. like my mother.
but she was different, she genuinely cared about me & my wellbeing. she knew if i was left alone i would somehow die. she was the one who told me "big changes aren't bad things. they can be good too." and i knew one big change in my life was being with her. her touching my hands, holding them; her patting my hair. she actually cared. if anything happened to her, if the world went against her, i would be against the world.
