3rd person pov
Vibrant hues of reds and oranges fill the sky as the Sun's light was soon to slumber for the darkness of the night. The gang was currently trying to figure out which direction Kazuto went in.
"Anything Inuyasha?" asked Shippo.
The half-demon sniffed the ground a few more times before getting up, crossing his arms with a deep frown. "No, his scent ends here. That bastard must've masked his demonic aura."
"What about you Kagome?" Sango asked.
Kagome frowns as she shook her head in discontent. "Nothing. I can't sense the jewel shards at all." No one was sure what to do next as they were at a standstill. Without any direct leads, their chances of finding Kagami grew slim.
Just then a bird appeared flying above the gang. "Master Inuyasha!" Myoga called out. He jumped off of the bird and landed on his nose.
Inuyasha deadpanned at the flea before smacking him off. "Hmph, I'm surprised you came back."
Kagome leaned over Inuyasha's arm as she looked down at the flea. "Myoga did you find anything?"
"I did." He said returning to his unflatten state. "There appears to be a temple located east of here surrounded by a body of water. I suspect they may be taking refuge there however I couldn't take a closer look due to a barrier surrounding the area."
She raised an eyebrow. "A barrier?"
"Master Inuyasha it's safe to assume Kazuto may not be fighting alone." He said while jumping onto his shoulder.
Inuyasha's frown deepened as he recalled the trouble marker of their group of the past. "You're saying the fox is there too?"
"Most likely." He said with dread.
"Hah, nothing I can't handle." He huffed stepping forward. "Let's get moving!"
With collective nods, everyone prepared to set off. While Inuyasha was already running ahead Sango, Kagome, Miroku, and Shippo all collectively shared Kirara's back.
As they traveled in the air Sango glanced back at Kagome in mild curiosity. "Not that I mind Kagome, but don't you usually ride with Inuyasha?"
She frowned not yet over Inuyasha's revealed relationship with Kagami. "I don't want to hold him back right now." She said trying to hold back her bitterness.
"How are you feeling Miroku?" Shippo asked while on his shoulder.
The monk looked down at his right arm. Its color was a sickly purple and he couldn't move it as well as he used to. "I'll manage." He was rather grateful for the numbing feeling taking over the burning pain of the poison.
"Master Inuyasha I still think it's highly unwise to face Kazuto so soon after what happened last time! And if Master Ai is with him we're in serious trouble!" The flea panicked, hanging onto him for dear life.
Inuyasha didn't acknowledge his concerns as his eyes were determined, set on one goal. "If you're scared then run away like you usually do. I'll show those bastards who they're messing with."
"Please be reasonable!" He shrieked.
"Hey, look at the sky." Kagome pointed out. The vibrant colors of the setting sun were soon devoured by dark grey clouds. It appeared that a storm was brewing yet there was no rain in sight.
Shippo trembled with fear as he hid behind Miroku's shoulder. "It's like what happened at the village."
Myoga started to jump around screaming for his life. "Everyone get away! Quickly!"
