It was my birthday. Before you ask no I wasn't having a party. I don't do parties and no it's not because I don't have friends it's because I just don't like big celebrations. My mom knocked on my door then let herself in. She held a small box in her hands.
"Lilah, I know you told me not to get you anything and you put your foot down that you are now an adult and don't want presents but I just know you'll love this." She said handing me the box. It was a small rectangular box, I thought it would be a necklace because my mom had a thing for jewelry.
"Thank you." I said sighing. I knew she'd do this. I lifted the top off of the box and revealed a ticket to a Pierce The Veil concert. I screamed and hugged my mom. I thanked her repeatedly I was so excited. The date on the concert said it was tomorrow. She must have got these months ago.
"We'll have to go shopping so you have something to wear tomorrow." She said smiling. She walked out of my room so I could get ready since I hadn't changed out of my pajamas yet. I put on a Breaking Benjamin tank top and skull leggings with my purple Doc Martins. I put on some simple makeup and straightened my hair. My mom knocked on my door.
"Are you ready?" She called.
"Yes!" I called back. I grabbed my cellphone, sunglasses and wallet and met my mom in the car. She turned on the radio and Bringing On The Heartbreak by Def Leppard came on. My mom and I sang dramatically to it and just had a good time. That's what I love about my mom, the simplest things can be fun with her. We pulled in at the mall and went strait to Spencer's. I picked out some fish nets and skull plugs. After that we went to hot topic where I got two Pierce The Veil bracelets, a dark red tank top with glitter on it that was ripped up the back and plaid shorts in the same color. We paid then decided to get something to eat. We ate pizza and rested for a while.
"Do you want to buy new shoes?" My mom asked.
"No, I'm going to wear my boots. I kinda want to buy some hair dye." I replied. After eating we went to Sally's and bought bleach and some black and green dye. I was planning to go half black half green. When we were done shopping we headed home.
