I could hear a ringing sound in my head, the chocolate house was swinging from side to side, as the noise got louder and louder. All of a sudden, it disappeared and my eyes opened to a shadow staring me in the face. I wiped my eyes and the shadow went away. “That was strange.” I thought. I just shook it off. I turned off my alarm and went to get ready to go shopping with my sister, May. “Sara, hurry up, we have to meet Rikaylah in ten minutes.” She shouted.
“I’m coming.” I shouted back.
I quickly grabbed my hairbrush off of my top shelf, but as I pulled at it, something else fell with it. I felt tears run down my cheeks as she stared at a locket that on the front said “Tas is Alli’s BFF”. Alli and I had been best friends since we were three years old. We did everything together, but almost a year before, on Alliceea’s seventeenth birthday Alli and I were walking back to my house when Alli stopped to tie her shoe, I stopped with her, but I heard a loud bang and turned to see what it was, but when I turned back a second later, Alli was gone. I called out her name and searched everywhere for hours and eventually ran home to my mother. The police were called and Alli’s mother was informed, everyone was so distraught, sending out search parties and staying up to the early hours of the morning, but still nothing. For months, I sat on my bed, holding my phone, hoping Alli would call, but still nothing.
“Tassara!” yelled May.
“I’m coming!” I exclaimed, fighting back my tears. I walked down the stairs to find me two younger sisters, Raneesa and Kyarna, sitting at the table.
“Sara!” exclaimed Kyarna
“Hay cutie!” I replied, taking her out of her high chair and swinging her around onto my hip.
“Hey Raneesa.” I smiled.
Raneesa did not answer.
Raneesa had barely said two words to me, since Alli disappeared, and when she did talk to me, it was only to start a fight. Raneesa blamed me for Alli disappearing. She said that I should have been able to see what had happened, that I should have been keeping a closer eye on her, but I will tell you something right now, if I had kept any closer of an eye on her, she would have got a restraining order on me or something. Raneesa was only fifteen when Alli went missing and considering Alli was basically part of our family, Raneesa didn’t take the news so well. I mean no one did, but she seems to think it effected her the most out of our family, but every one else, including me, Knows that it’s effected me the most. I mean, one minute we’re talking about how suckish, those last moments of our high school life are going to be, the next, I’m putting up missing person posters.
“U going to stay at Maya’s tonight?” I asked
No answer.
“Come on Sara, we have to go now!” Said May
“Okay.” I said with a sigh.
