"I TOLD YOU TO NEVER TOUCH MY STUFF!"
I back away slowly when I feel
One punch to the arm
"YOU'RE WORTHLESS!"
One kick to the leg
"NO ONE WILL EVER WANT TO BE WITH YOU, NO ONE LIKES LITTLE SKANKS!"
One push to the ground for luck
Right when I hit the ground my brother Noah walks into the house.
He sees me lying on the ground with tears streaming down my face.
"NOAH THIS ISN'T THE TIME, LEAVE. NOW."
My monster of a father bares his teeth as my brother lunges at him.
Noah is struggling with his words,
"LANA, go NOW!"
My father has my older brother pinned down but my brother knees him in the groin and he falls with a great thud.
I watch everything unfold in udder surprise, why has it come to this?
"LANA GO NOW!!"
I sob even harder.
"What about you?"
My brother rushes to my side and puts his hands on my shoulders.
"Don't worry about me, run as far as you can away from this hell ." Noah pushes me out the door and I hear a scream, I weep and weep as I run as fast as I can.
There's no going back now.
==================
I estimate that I've ran over a quarter of a mile.
I see a public telephone and ring my grandfather.
"Grandpa? It's Lana. I need your help and there is no time to explain. I promise I'll tell you what happened but I really need you to come pick me up."
He agrees and says he'll be here in thirty minutes.
I walk into a bar next to me called "Un Lugar Fresco" and sit on the stool.
What just happened.
I've seen my dad get angry but never this angry.
He probably was drunk.
Thank God Noah showed up at the right time and place or who knows where I would be right now...
As I recreate what I just saw I ponder on what mom would think of this.
She left us one year ago because she couldn't handle all the pressure my father put my mother.
She explained that we would meet soon and that I shouldn't worry about her, that she was going to be happier and get her life together.
That was when I was sixteen.
I believed any foolish lie that would lead me to believe that mom would actually come back.
I'm seventeen now and I know the facts.
Don't rely on most everyone.
For they will leave you and they won't return ever.
My thoughts were interrupted by the honking of my grandfather's car.
I walk up to the car and my grandpa is waiting with open arms for me to hug him.
I really needed that.
