Reborn

Chapter 21

I look over to see one of the butler's hold a knife up to Canary's neck. I hum, not really frightened by any of this. "Canary!" Gon yelled. I didn't cover my ears when Gon yelled. 'It... doesn't hurt as bad.' I thought. I was actually pretty proud of myself. I was starting to get over the loud noises. I deserve a treat.

"This is her punishment for defying orders and bringing you here." Gotoh explained, now getting on with the rules. I ignored the butler, already knowing everything. I let out a small hiccup, not expecting it to come out. I then hear Gon say, "Killua is-" The boy was cut off by Gotoh yelling, "Silence!"

I hiccup once again, feeling a hand on my back. That hand was rubbing my back as if I was a baby. It could have also been nerves though. Leorio is weird. "Your very lives hang by a most delicate thread. Answer my question. I will not ask again." Gotoh said, flipping the coin. I sigh, letting out another hiccup.

I watch him move his hands and finally stop, asking which hand the coin was in. Gotoh's hands were steaming. I didn't think it was that serious though. The trio looks at each other, not knowing what to say. Gotoh then says we only have three seconds to answer, also ordering another butler to slice Canary's throat if the seconds have passed.

I already knew the answer, so I decided to speak first once again. "The right hand." I said quickly, followed up by Leorio saying he picked the left. "I pick the right hand!" Gon said, with Kurapika following after the boy. Leorio grunts in frustration, seeing the coin in the right hand. "One has been disqualified." Gotoh said.

I watch him flip the coin and move his hands quickly once again. It was making my head hurt. But for them, it was a normal Tuesday.

"Which hand."

"The left hand." I said first. Gon and Kurapika nod at each other, speaking telepathy. "I choose the right hand." Kurapika said, making Gon pick the left. Gotoh opens his hands, showing the coin in his left. "It was in my left hand. Now only two remain." Gon and Gotoh have a stare down, having Gotoh almost flip the coin again.

"Wait just a minute!" Gotoh stops himself, saying, "What is it. If you're trying to buy time, I will kill one of you." Without hesitation, Gon looks to Leorio, asking for his knife. "Don't worry, okay? I'm not gonna use it for anything stupid." Gon said, taking the bandage off his eye. Leorio gives him the knife, watching as Gon slices his eye.

The boy then puts small bandages on the cut, so it didn't bleed out. "There. Much better. I can see now. Okay, I'm ready!" Gon exclaimed. "Hurry up and flip the damn coin, Gotoh." I said. I see the butler look over at me, surprised that I knew his name. I didn't exactly care at the moment, I just wanted to hurry up.

Killua would be here any minute now. Gotoh finally flips the coin and moves his hands quickly. When he's done, he asks which hand the coin was in.

"The left hand."

"The left."

I look over at Gon as he glances at me. I give him a small smile, giving him a thumbs up. "Hey... Aren't you being stupid? Why are you choosing the same hand?" Leorio asks, whispering to me. I didn't bother to answer as Gotoh opens his hands, showing the coin was in the left. "Very good. Now..."

Gotoh stands up and has 2 other butlers' come help with the last coin flip. Flipping the coin again, all 6 hands move at a quick pace, making my head spin. Once they stop, Gotoh asks, "Now, which one of us has it?" I hum, not sure if I should answer this one. Gon only stares intently as I was thinking if I should answer.

'Ermm... Maybe I should keep quiet.' I thought, seeing Gon smile and point a thumb behind him. "That guy. Right behind me." Gon says. I look over at the guy behind Gon to see him open his hand, showing the coin. I was correct. It was wise to keep my mouth shut. Then, all the butler's clap, followed along with a "Splendid!" from Gotoh.
