A new Day

The sound of her alarm clock woke Tori up. She did not sleep well since she partied last night pretty hard. Tori had a really bad headache and felt extremely sick, but she had to go to school. There is just one chance of getting famous, and she promised to herself that she would never risk that opportunity again by partying. Tori got up, whimpering from the headache and went towards the bathroom.

The door was locked. Trina. Of course. Tori's older sister always took forever in the bathroom, so if Tori wasn't fast enough, she would have to wait at least thirty minutes. Sometimes though, Trina would open the door for her sister to pee. And well, Tori didn't have the chance to pee when she came home at around 4 o'clock in the morning. Not much to say here, just too much alcohol. Tori knocked on the door.

"Trina, I have to pee."

Silence.

Or was it? Tori put her ear on the door, and she was found correct; there were whimpering sounds, she could also hear soft crying and light gasping.

"Trina, open the fucking door. We don't have time for your bullshit. School starts in not even one hour." Tori knocked again, this time, harder.

Trina finally opened the door. Tori gave her sister a death stare, past her bloody chest and arms. She didn't know why Trina did this to herself, but at the same time she didn't care. Trina deserves it anyway, for how now Tori needed to perform everything perfect for their parent's approval. Trina was just not talented. She tried, but there is just no talent for singing. Everyone knows this. But still, Trina kept on practicing, meaning she would sing every day. Tori got annoyed pretty fast and told her sister to just stop trying because she never will be able to be as talented as she is. Since then, Trina seemed defeated and adopted to the habit of borrowing sharp items, usually knives to cut herself in her chest area and her upper arms. Sadly, for Tori, Trina never cut so deep so that she would bleed to death. Also, it would leave a huge mess in the bathroom and Trina rarely ever cleaned up.

"Clean up the floor. Everywhere is blood. It's disgusting."

After Trina cleaned her mess up, Tori could finally pee in peace. Slowly, memories from yesterday evening came into her head and she smiled a bit. Robbie proposing to Cat with a lid of a beer bottle. Jade just being there. Andre singing together with her Ke$ha songs. Her smile froze. Beck. Tori didn't know how many bottles he killed, but the number surely was over ten. A wonder he didn't die on the spot. 'I mean, how much per thousand would that be? 3?' She tried to remember something else, something to make sure Beck is still alive. 'Shit'. Beck told them he was tired and headed inside his RV. Then the others kind of split with Tori heading home, Jade laying in a hammock in front of the RV and the last three roaming around the streets.

"Tori? We need to leave in ten minutes."

Tori abruptly collected her thoughts and got up from the toilet seat, quickly went over her teeth and cleansed her face up a bit. If she got to school, she would see if Beck was there. If he was, everything was okay again. If he wasn't, ...

Tori felt guilty for leaving him basically alone and not caring about his bad mood throughout the night.

                     - At school -

Tori rushed through the front door before Trina even got out of the car. She quickly spotted Jade thanks to her dark color pallet. Tori practically ran towards Jade who gave her a weird look.

"I-Is Beck alr-right?"

Jade just looked at Tori with a weird look on her face. Then she broke off the eye contact and starred at the ground.

"Let's just say he is hungover."

"So he's still alive?"

"Barely. But he made it here so I guess he's fine."

"Jade. He drank like ten bottles of beer!"

"It's not like he isn't used to that much alcohol!"

"... Jade."

"What?"

"You know he tried to kill himself once with an overdose of alcohol. These were also about ten bottles in the end. You should care more about your boyfriend!"

"So now you're telling me I'm a bad girlfriend?"

"I didn't say that but frankly, yes! He was obviously in a bad mood; you should have comforted him."

"Well, if you know so well what to do when shit like that happens again then do it yourself! Go be that perfect little girlfriend of Beck he needs so desperately!"

Jade stormed of, angry and jealous. At that moment Torie saw Beck coming from the boy's toilet down the hallway. Now she understood what Jade meant when she said that Beck was "barely" alive. He couldn't walk straight; his head was basically resting on his chest and his arms just swung around uncontrollably. Tori was a bit shocked but put that aside. She went closer to him.

"Beck?"

He picked his head up and saw Tori in the eyes. His eyes were empty, erased from any emotion. They were also red, as if he either cried, took weed or threw up.

"Torie?"

He whispered her name so quietly that Torie almost didn't hear. His voice sounded raspy; not like he usually sounds. Torie could smell the alcohol coming from his mouth as he spoke. He seemed to still be under the influence which was sadly not surprising. Beck looked sick.

"Beck, did you just throw up?"

Beck's eyes filled with tears, and he stared at his feet.

"I'm sorry."

"Why do you apologize?"

"I'm so sorry..."

He lost it. Tears streamed down his face which he tried to hide but failed miserably.

"I didn't mean to do this... I just... had enough lately..."

Beck hesitated, then turned around and left Tori standing in the hallway in shock and full of guilt. She followed him and saw that he went into the janitor's closet. Luckily for her the lock was broken so she easily got in. Beck had already broken down on the floor. He just kneeled there, crying his eyes out.
"Beck, it's alright. If you're wondering, I'm not mad at you. I just wish that you told us that you were feeling bad."

Beck didn't seem to notice anything Tori just said, he just continued crying on the floor.
