My New Life

*Noell's Pov*

"Maddy Rae Harp! Really? Why can't you just leave me alone while I help unload the trailer for mom!?" I yelled as she ran inside screaming for our mom.

Maddy is my little sister and also a huge pain in my ass. Her short, straight, red hair, green eyes, and chipmunk cheeks get her everything she ever wants. Plus, I'm not even her blood related sibling. Maddy is the smallest thing in the world. She looks as if she is 6 but she is actually 9 years old.

"Nelly!" Maddy yelled from the door, "mommy needs you!'

"I'm finishing this first!" After telling her that I thought to myself -why can't I just do things without getting yelled at for once?-

My full name is Noell Reanne Harp. My mom and sister both call me Nelly for short. I'm 16 almost 17. My birthday is in 4 months which is September. My hair is long, straight, and light-brown with blond highlights I have really dark blue eyes and freckles covering my face. The reason I look nothing like Maddy is because I was adopted when I was 2 months old.

We just moved to Atalanta, Georgia and nothing is the same as in California. Here in Atlanta it is about 83 degrees and if we were still in LA it would be almost 75 degrees. I really miss California already. I have no friends here and the summer just started. Summer with out friends really sucks.

As I was about to take a load from the trailer in the house, a cute, curly brown headed boy walked outside of a house next-door. He looked at me and smiled a really cheeky grin. Right when I was about to smile back, he turned around and went in the opposite direction. He had keys in his hand so I kind of figured he was going to the mailboxes even though I don't know where they are at.

As I got in the house and started putting the some boxes down, my mom started yelling at me for yelling at Maddy. As you know I'm a teen so I just ignored her. All I could think about was the cute guy that lives next-door. Some thought were -what's he like- and -he could be my first friend here!-

After I was done listening to my mom screaming at me, I finished unloading the trailer. I got into the truck and backed the trailer next to the house. I hopped out of the truck and saw the cheeky boy walking back. I acted like I didn't notice and unhooked the trailer and pulled the truck into the driveway. I got out and to my surprise the guy was standing right I front of me. The bad thing, is I didn't notice him and ran the top of my head straight into his chest.

"I'm so sorry!" I looked up from my keys and said in a panic.

"No problem. I'm fact, I was just coming over to introduce myself. I'm James McCarter." He said with a cute smirk.

"Hi, James." I said quietly. A few awkward seconds passed until he asked me something.

"What's your name?" He said this as if he was expecting me to say that even before I said anything else.

"Sorry, my name is Noell Harp." I told him nervously. I think he could tell because he starting to give me his hand to shake and I hesitated to shake it.

"So I heard a little girl yelling at you earlier when I was leaving my house. Was that your sister?"

"Yeah. Maddy is a real pain in my ass. She is always telling on me for no reason always getting me in trouble. How can a nine year old do that?"

"Wow." James giggled. "I have two younger brothers. Jesse is 12, Jared is 15, then there is me and I'm almost 17 and my oldest brother is 19 today. The best thing is we don't fight at all."

"Lucky you. Maddy and I fight all the time. I think it's because we aren't even full blood siblings."

"Yeah. I kind of figured. She looks absolutely nothing like you."

"It's because I was adopted at 2 months old. It sorta sucks but it doesn't matter. I coincided Lucy my mom." I explained really slowly while lolling at the ground.

"Anyway, do you want to come in a walk with me? I got bored walking around by myself so that's why I'm here. To ask you."

*James' Pov*

Noell was a really pretty girl. She was different from the other people here. The girls here are like whores. But her she sweet and shy. It was a different way to talk to her because of it but I knew she needed a friend since she just moved in.

"So do you want to walk around with me?" I asked as she kept looking at the ground. "Come on let me see that face."

Noell looked up with a little smirk on her face and as soon as she saw that I saw that she looked back down at the ground.

"Why do you always look at the ground? Its like you have never seen anyone before."

She slowly looked up and said, "Lets go on that walk." She grabbed my arm and was pulling me.

"Okay then. Lets go." I said with a little grin.
