Ari's ceiling was illuminated by the soft blue light of her phone. A text. She opened her eyes slowly. She wasn't asleep yet, just barely there. It's gotta be like, 3 am or something. She streamed for a long time. Minecraft gets intense. She rolled over to face the table next to her. She grabbed her phone and held it 1 cm away from her face cuz her eyesight was so bad.
It was from Chris. She rubbed her eyes quickly and opened the message.
hey sorry I was kinda lame earlier. I really appreciate you coming by to hang out. ive just been anxious this week lol
Ari felt a little relief upon reading this. Should she ask him why? I guess it wouldn't hurt...

She put her phone next to her and fluffed her pillow up, waiting for his reply. Her phone buzzed again. That was quick. She picked her phone back up.
It was from Zach this time.

Ari smiled and felt a warm feeling rise up in her. She's the first person he thought to text, huh? She was about to reply to him before she got another text from Chris.
yeah I'm alright I think it's just been a busy week. And tomar of course. kinda threw me off.
She hoped he was being sincere, but he probably wasn't. Chris never talks about how he's feeling or anything of the sort. She didn't really know much about his personality besides what he's like when recording, or just hanging out in a group of people.
Better reply to Zach, though.

Ari was taken aback by this. She guessed he noticed her reaction when he had brought it up earlier. She wasn't sure what to say. She wasn't mad he did, just surprised. She tried to think of a reply.

Oh no. They're gonna be recording more. She hoped things weren't going to get awkward now. She really doesn't wanna upset the dynamic of the whole crew. She was fully sat up in her bed now. Texting two guys at once. That never happens. She checked the time. It was 3 am.

She raised her eyebrows. Chris just apologized about bringing it up, now he's asking that? She pulled up their conversation.

She didn't know what to say. Again. She was blushing, too. Does she feel guilty? Is that what it is? Why is Chris talking like this? Is he just being funny? Teasing? She had to collect her thoughts before she answered him, so she went to Zach's text, double checking to be sure it was him.

She leaned back against her bed frame and rubbed her eyes. She shouldn't have to feel guilty for liking someone, she thought. Maybe Chris is just a jealous person. That didn't really seem like him, though. Is he drunk? Does he even drink at all? Smokin the za, perhaps? No, that's not like him.
