After that weird corpse, weird old lady, and weird fog, and weird towns people, you and Jotaro were definitely suspicious. Suspicion saves lives, you know.

You were booked in a room with Jotaro, Kakyoin with Polnareff, and Joseph got his own room. Lucky bastard.

It was night time, and the only thing Jotaro cared to talk about is how suspicious Enya was.

"None of it makes sense. Covered in holes, not bleeding, gun freshly fired... Then she conviently has a little hotel place." He mutters, takes off his jacket and stretching his back.

"The walls probably have ears if you're so suspicious," You say. "But I agree."

He makes a little 'hmph' noise before beginning to roll up his shirt, taking it off.

You yank your head away. "Dude, I just said the walls have ears. They probably have eyes too. Put your tits away or at the very least grace me with some decency and do it in the bathroom?"

He, in silence, walks off to the bathroom, returning in about a minute with clean pijamas on. He's wearing black, fluffy pants and a plain sage green t-shirt. Still has his hat, though.

"I didn't take you as someone who wore PJs." You say. "I kind of just imagined you slept in your day clothes."

"If anyone does that, it's you." He scoffs. "You'd probably be too lazy to get up and change."

You squint at him. Jackass.

The room quotes down and the atmosphere is calm. You can hear the sound of a cricket coming through the slightly cracked window. It doesn't annoy you, you just turn it into white noise.
You get up to go cnhs and bring what little spare clothes you have into the bathroom with you.
You check yourself out in the mirror while you're shirtless. A couple new scars, you look kind of tired... you turn on the sink and let it run. You splash water in your face and hair, and rub it gently into the drier parts of your skin. It's grounding. You knew coming along wouldn't be easy. You don't really think about it with the front of your mind often, but you worry. All your new friends could be gone to some new, foreign concept to you. Fucking magical ghosts.
Speak of the devil. Your magical little ghost came out while you were thinking about it.
'It almost has a mind of its own,' You think. 'But mostly intrested in mimicking me.' You watch as it attempts to splash water on itself, but just sends it flying onto the floor and wall behind you.
You turn off the sink, dry yourself and put on your Pjs.
When you walk back out, it's mostly silent. You can kind of hear the breathing of Jotaro, but it's not eerie. Just breathing. He's laying down on his back on the (one) bed between you, arms behind his head. You snap him out of his thoughts.
"Are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?" You ask.
He just looks at you with a stare.
"I don't have five heads, give me an answer, please." You sigh, tossing your dirty clothes over with the rest of your stuff.
"The bed?" He asks.
"I mean, you could add that. I'm more talking about you kissing me."
He seems to stiffen. He pulls his hat down a little bit.
"It was to prove something to you." He says.
"If that's what you want it to be," You say. "The only way for me to know the real reason is by telling me." You pry him. Boys. Always playing with your feelings.
"I don't know what it was. It wasn't something I had felt before, just that I needed to do it." He says.
You take a couple steps towards the bed and crawl onto it to the right on him, sitting down.
"Thanks for being honest with me." You say.

No other words are spoken about that. Too much emotional intensity for Jotaro.

You crawl into bed, under the covers trying to take up the least possible amount of space.

The bedsheets are oddly cold. Maybe it's the window. You don't care enough to get up.

Jotaro, seems to have issues sleeping as well. You feel him toss and turn for what seems to be about half an hour .

"What's troubling you?" You ask.

"I don't trust this place enough to sleep," He says.

You turn your body to face him. "You need to sleep. Energy is what gives you your smarts, your strength and also keeps Star Platinum alive. The best way to protect us and yourself is to let yourself sleep. You're not gambling on our lives, so don't worry." You say.

It's enough for him. He takes his hat off and lays his back into the mattress one more time.

You scoot a little closer to him. Under the covers, you slide your hand to grab his. In comparison, your hands are smaller.

"I know what it's like to be scared and feel like you have the world on your shoulders," You say. You intertwine your fingers and squeeze his hand gently. "One step at a time. That's how you carry your responsibilities."

He lets you hold his hand there for another moment, before you pull away to rest it on your pillow.
He doesn't move his arm or hand until you do, only slipping his hand back under his head after you move your hand.

Looking at him while he falls asleep and seeing the worry temporarily melt off his face, a pit of regret begins to form in your stomach.

You shouldn't have pulled away. You should've held his hand for as long as he'd let you.
