Wednesdays Child Is Full Of Woe

Your POV - Monday 7am - DORM

I had been awake for around half an hour. The sun had rose, it's blinding light seeping through the curtain gaps. I look over to my roommate, Ajax. We have been best friends since I moved to Nevermore, which is a school for outcasts like me. Ajax has the ability to turn people into stone, he has hair that are snakes, however he doesn't show them. However, I have the ability to shape-shift, it's quite a cool ability, I inherited the ability from my mom, who is the principle of Nevermore.
Im sat against the headboard of my bed, every time I moved it bashed against the wall. A couple of times I've had complaints from the roommates in the room next to mine and Ajax's, although I can't help it. I'm reading a book called Percy Jackson & The Olympians: the lightning thief, I'm halfway through the book and so far it's quite good. I snap my head towards the noise of Ajax shuffling in bed, he isn't sleeping with his hat on so I'm cautious to not look to much or else I'll be stone.

A couple minutes of flipping pages, Ajax finally wakes up to his annoying alarm that goes off every 5 minutes if he doesn't wake up. It's once in a lifetime that he wakes up properly to his first, so I guess that once in a lifetime was today.
"jeez what time is it" he questions me, as if I'm the one to know. I glance at my phone next to me, "It's 7.30, I'd wake up now if you don't want to be late." I roll my eyes, questioning myself why I was put with someone so stupid, yet his company is fun, he's quite funny, yet so blind to notice sudden hints.
There's a girl named Enid, she's a really nice person to talk to, always cheerful, but behind closed doors you never know what is truly going on. Some nights she texts me, ranting, i don't mind it though as if someone needs help I'll give it to them. She has a massive crush on Ajax, I don't know how he doesn't notice, her hints are so obvious that even I could tell she liked him before she told me. I think they'd be quite cute together. Last night she had told me a guy had been swamped by piranhas in a school pool by a girl, quite crazy.

Time skip | 9 AM

Leaving my dorm with Ajax, I see rowan and Xavier also leave. Rowan splits from Xavier going  the opposite from where Xavier is heading. Xavier strolls over to us and we make it over to the quad. Xavier has the ability to bring whatever he draws to life, I remember he drew a spider, it was as big as a tarantula, its very impressive.
Finding a free bench was hard, with the main cliques of the fangs, furs, stoners and scales. Fangs are vampires, so it's rare you'd see them since they only appear in the night. Furs are werewolves, there are many of them in the quad, all swarming one bench so a lot of them have to sit on top. Stoners are people like Ajax, snake hair and the ability to turn people into stone. Finally the scales, the scales are sirens so mermaids or merman, with the girl named Bianca Barclay, the closest person Nevermore has to royalty.
I like to hang out with the stoners, mainly because there aren't many people who are shapeshifters in Nevermore. Xavier doesn't hang around with me and Ajax much, he mainly spends his time painting his mural on the inside of the quad. Xavier and Bianca used to date, however they broke up at the beginning of the semester, quite tough, yet no one knows why it happened.
Gossiping with the stoners, I spot Enid. "Ajax," accidentally cutting him off, I point at Enid, gesturing that we should go over. Ajax nods, getting up and we both walk over to Enid. "Yo, Enid! You're not gonna believe the dirt I heard about your new roommate.She eats human flesh. Totally chowed down on that kid she murdered," Hitting him on the arm for the rude comment he had made, rubbing where I hit him. "You better watch your back." Carrying on his conversation I looked at him and shook my head. Unexpectedly, a girl appears from behind Enid, she was quite beautiful, although quite spooky, maybe kooky? She never smiled, just a straight face.

"Quite the contrary. I actually fillet the bodies of my victims, then feed them to my menagerie of pets." Ajax had a look of terror and embarrassment on his face, I laughed at this. "Ajax, Y/N, this is my new roommate Wednesday." I smiled at this, Ajax stiff from embarrassment, still a look of terror plastered on his face. "Whoa. You're in black and white. Like a living instagram filter." Excuse me? Did he for real just say that. At this point I'm done with Ajax cause of the most stupidest shit he says. I shake my head again from what he said, looking at him, eyebrows furrowed down as if I looked like an angry parent, looking at me he shrugged like he had said nothing wrong.
I felt eyes lurking at me, it made me feel quite uneasy. As I looked back, I had a glimpse of Wednesday admiring me, or maybe even setting up some sort of plan for torture, hoping it was the first. A quick glimpse turned into a conversation between Wednesday and Enid.
"Ignore him. Gorgons spend way too much time getting stoned." Me and Ajax look at each other in confusion, the wording of her sentence sounded awfully wrong. Ajax had about enough of the conversation with Enid so he had walked off, dragging me along, which resulted in me almost tripping over my feet.
