It was Halloween, the time of spooky scary skeletons and rotting teeth. The time where every kid would go down the street to Ms.Jameson's house to trick or treat and get enormous size everything. Snickers the size of your backpack, Resees the size of your face and even candy corn the size of an average phone, though she gave the candy corn to those who were bad. It was the time where everyone had fun, well everyone except for Zero, the "average adult". Zero was the one who works at every place in the city of New York and if he's not working there he has worked there. He even worked as an intern for a scientist once. To be honest no one knows how he does it but he does and does it very well. Unlike every other store Zero was working at a non-celebratory Walmart. Meaning he saw no spooky decorations, no candy on shelves or even any poorly made costumes on the racks and it was all because apparently it was "passed our budget" for Halloween as his manager claimed. "Ugh this is the most boring Halloween day ever!" Zero said leaning against his counter.

"You said it" Lydia said over the transceiver as she stocked Vases on the shelves. Lydia wasn't really friends with Zero. He just met her a couple months ago. She apparently was best friends with Rhett, his best friend, and had to move to New York for some family issues. The thing is when he moves to go see his friends hopefully they'll have a place for him to stay since he just got kicked out and is living with his cousins.

"Ugh I just wanna go home to Chica" Zero said as he saw a his manager go into the backroom. Zero sighed as his phone vibrated in his pocket. He went to pull his phone out but a folded photo fell out of his pocket first. Zero crouched down and unfolded the picture. It was a picture of him and some of his best friends. There was Mark, the one that was more muscular than all of them. There also was Ethan the one that was always a jokester so much he made bunny ears for Mark. Tyler was the one who wasn't really there a lot but was definitely there for Zero's going away party. Then there's Rhett. The shortest one of them all and the most strangest but his strangeness did help them all meet. He missed them. They were the closest thing he had to family.

"What are you doing lazy ass?" Light, his coworker, patronized him.

"Shush." Zero said in an annoying tone as he got up and put the picture in his pocket.

"What you got there pegasus boy."

"None of your fucking business." Zero said turning away from Light.

"If only he would realize how much he means to me. I fucking love you Zero so much can you just accept that?! I know I have a fucked up way of showing it but I really do love you. I may make jokes about your sexuality, I may tease you about your crushes but it's only so you'll get back with me! I miss you so much. I miss your laugh.....I miss your sweet words.......I miss your kisses..........I want...wait no.......I need your love. I love you Zero I truly do I hope you can see that." Light thought to herself as she gazed at Zero. Zero looked up at the clock and noticed it's 7:47 PM. He only had a couple more minutes until his shift was over. He really wanted to leave considering he wanted to go to his other job as the security guard who worked for the night shift at the museum. At least at the museum they had spooky decorations and candy for the tourist. As Zero stared at the clock he felt his phone vibrate again. Just then he realized that he had never looked at his messages. He opened his phone, saw it was a message from Rhett, and Mark. He opened Rhett's text first.

"So are you bringing Alex with you to the parties?" Rhett texted.

"Uh what parties?" Zero replied. After a while there was no response so Zero put his phone down and decided to restock some shelves before he left. He was restocking the cereal, specifically Apple Jack's. He didn't really care how he did it since where he was no cameras could see him. As he looked at the clock he saw it was 7:52 PM. He was supposed to leave ten minutes ago so he finished stocking and headed toward his counter station.
