It took 3 weeks to find her

3 weeks to keep her

How many would it take to lose her?

Loui was lost in his head walking down the quarter with his other two companions.

It was the pairs weekly walk to church.
Lestat would drop them off, Lourdes and Loui off at the steps of the church and continue his ravenous evening.

On the walks back Loui was able to learn so much of their new lover. Learn her culture, her language, and he supported her in her new found vision. They'd been educating her on a world she's literally never seen.

The harmony between them was a grand production. Lestat the orchestrator, Lourdes the vocals and Loui the beat. But for how long until the music stopped?

"Loui." His arm was dragged to the left "stop doing that. I'm not going anywhere."

"I'm sorry. Can you blame me I, every human I've ever loved has been lost to me since my transition."

"Love?" Lourdes said lowly in a gasp

"Ohh here we go again." Lestat threw his hand  the air.

"Lestat don't do that, don't mock him for losing the people he cared about. Just because he misses them doesn't mean his care for us diminishes. It's when you invalidate him that his fondness of you diminishes. Now apologize."

Lestat's jaw tightened and he swallowed harshly.

Even Loui wasnt surprised by Lourdes's retort she hasn't been most agreeable since they've been together when it comes to Lestat's actions and reactions.

Smiling Lestat bowed his head toward Loui

"My apologies Mon Cher I'm irritated, I will take my leave."

Quickly turning around Lestat was gone before Lourdes could say anything further.

She turned to the side smiling at a seldom Loui. Grabbing his hand she lead him into the the church.

Placing the holy water in her hand she cupped it in her palm.

"Look down."

Upon request Loui looked down as he did the water elevated right into thin air.

He couldn't believe his eyes she used her other hand to place the water over his forehead.

Loui couldn't be happier he often felt a hypocrite before Lourdes for having faith and hope.

He was a damned creature why would he go to church?

"You've got it all wrong, you're not damned, you're not the devil , you forget he's just a fallen angel. Give me your hand, bless me with your heart and we'll rise together".

Loui grabbed her hand pulling her out of the church. He pushed her against the marble pillars above the outside steps.

"Loui what happened ? Are you okay?" She asked with concern all over her face. He was staring at her intensely.

Grabbing her hair he kissed her so fiercely it left her silent. Her eyes now green she looked up at him then down grabbing the buttons of his coat.

"Lulu." Loui said more harshly than he meant but the dominance in him when it came to her couldn't be controlled at times.

"I love you too Loui du pont du lac."

His body began to buzz in heat. She loved him. A human loved his cold soul. Now being warmed again by love.

"I think we should go home and find Lestat. He should be told about the love I have for the both of you."

"No young lady your coming home with me right now."

"Shit." Lourdes cringed before they turned fully around to the voice that belonged to the demand.

"Watch your mouth in front of the father's house Lourdes before you get a hand."

Loui immediatley stood in front of Lourdes protectively. Not fully being able to see the person behind these threats.

The foot steps of the figure came closer towards them. Loui pushed his body upper body towards the sound approaching them, with hands placed on his hips.

"You best take leave before you find out what happens when you threaten me and mines".

At his last words the figure became visible to them, and my god was she gracefully beautiful.

Her long grey hair touched her shapely hips.

The lines on her face barely visible complimented her skin rather than took away from her beauty.

It was his lulu in a form of an older woman and in that moment Loui lost him self, he was frozen.

"Grandma please don't".

"Lou you narrow headed girl didn't I tell you to stay away. Huh ? But just like your mother you don't listen and look what happen to her. You're coming with me now."

The mention of his lulu going anywhere with anyone other than him and his mon amine woke him up out of whatever spell he was under.

Loui respected his elders dead or alive but someone taking whats his required him to show people what respect truly was.

"She's not going anywhere with you."

He grabbed Lourdes by the hip bringing her body behind his.

"Lourdes if you don't come with me now child you know I've warned to stay away from the dead your life and now here you are. What here's your cane?"

"She" Loui was cut off from his speech and lifted up into the air in a matter of seconds. His mind was on fire and he swore he could feel dirt filling in his lungs.

"Grandma stop it! Please don't hurt him." Lourdes was barely able to choke out before she started coughing up dirt as well.

"This man or whatever you want to call this corpse has already made you weak. Look at you one of the most powerful avatars in the world effected by earth matter all because you wanted to connected yourself to the dead."

"I can see grandma, how is that a weakness? None of your magic nor mine could ever do that for me!"

The fire from outside of the church's lanterns grew as Loui suddenly descended from his position in the air. He was barely conscious before he lost himself completely he saw the older woman fall.

"I'm sorry grandma but this is just until I can get him safe, until I can get all of us safe. I love you but I love them too."

He could hear his love crying , but couldn't stay awake long enough before the darkness completely took over him.
