My eyes slowly flutter open, and I immediately feel hot breath near my ear. It's an uncomfortable feeling, and I make a small, annoyed grunt, shifting a little to escape the big guy who's got me locked between his arms, breathing directly into my ear.

"God damn it, Livi," I whisper-shout, trying to wiggle my ear out of his mouth's path.

His eyebrows furrow, and he lets out a dismayed grunt, pulling me even closer than before. I sigh, giving up and deciding to hug him back just as tightly.

"Jesus, Sam," Oliver murmurs with a contented smile, his voice barely above a whisper. "Good thing I'm built this big, or you'd crush me."

I love that smile. And his hair. His light, fluffy hair that always falls across his forehead in messy waves. I thread my fingers through it, letting the soft strands slip through, watching as he drifts back to sleep.

I must have fallen asleep again too, because the next thing I know, my alarm is booming in my ears.

Shit! We're late, I think, shaking Oliver awake. "Come on, dude! We're late. AGAIN," I practically yell in his ear.

He doesn't seem to care at all, so I grab his arm, dragging him out of bed. I leave him lying on the floor and rush to the bathroom to get ready, brushing my teeth, taking a piss, and barely giving my curly brown hair a glance before racing back into Oliver's room.

He's still sprawled out on the bed, so I give him a light kick in the side as I pass. "Wake the hell up, Livi."

I head to his dresser and grab the clothes I keep here since I practically live at his place. I get dressed quickly, not caring that my best friend is in the room with me. When I glance over, I catch him looking my way, but he quickly averts his eyes.

I ignore it and finish getting ready. When I turn back to Oliver, somehow, he's all set too, looking like he's been ready for ages. I have absolutely no idea how he always manages to pull that off.

We rush downstairs to his black Suzuki Jimny. God, I love this car. And just like that, we're off to our favorite (not) place: school.
