"So day class, you are getting pen pals." Mr. Hyatt announced. A loud, collective groan took over the class. Mr. Hyatt just gives everyone a stern look. "And you will be replying to them. This is to know how people across the country act. They will be from Maine. That's how your third period class will be spent from now on. After a few weeks, I will expect a written report about your pen pal."
I smiled. I loved meeting new people. It couldn't be bad, right? This was computer class and apparently the class we are doing this with have it at the same time. That way we can reply faster. "Now come up here and I'll give you the paper with your pen pal's name and e-mail address." Mr. Hyatt commanded. Immediately the whole glass got to their feet and slided their way to the front of the class room. I sat in the front so I was first in line. I grabbed the blue sheet of paper and sat back down.
My pen pal is named Christopher Hamilton. Aparently it's a boy. His e-mail was christopherhamilton@yahoo.com. They must of had to make a new e-mail with their name like us. That mweant my e-mail was eboniemason@yahoo.com since that's my name.
I logged on to my e-mail and already had an e-mail from Christopher.

Well, hello there pen pal. I'm Christopher and you can call me Chris if you'd like. Can I call you Bonnie, for short? It's okay if you don't. Well, I don't really know what to say. Ummm, what's your favorite type of donut. I like the ones with cream, chocolate icing, and sprinkles. Sorry I'm talking pointlessly and weird. My teacher, Mrs. Oliver, says our email must be at least 75 words long. Reoly quick, please!
I laughed once I read the donut part. He couldn't think of anything else. The whole class gave me a weird look but just got back to work.

Hi Chris! You may call me Bonnie. That's what most people call me anyways. I like the same type of donut but with vanilla icing instead and that was quite random. My turn for questions. Do you play sports? I dance. In ballet. And to me that qualifies as a sport. I started when I was 13. That was 4 years ago. It's been my passion ever since. I also love the outfits! I often wear a tutu to school. I am wearing one right now in fact. It's dark blue. Many people think I'm strange but it's called being unique to me. Please don't judge!
"So what's your pen pal's name, Bonnie?" My best friend, Amy, asked making me jump half an inch in my seat.
"Christopher Hamilton. And please refrain from giving me a heart attack next time!" I replied, putting my right hand over my heart. She laught but then her eyes widened once she relized I had said a boy's name.
"Oh my gosh! You are so lucky. Mine's a girl. Her name is Carol Ross. And no offence to her, but she is boring. Maybe you and Christopher could go out. Like a long distance type thing. That would be so cool."
"Calm down Aims." I chuckled, putting an end to her babbling. "You know how I don't do long distance junk. They just don't work out and end in terrible break ups." Right when I finish, there was a new message from Chris. Amy peered over to read it.

I play two sports. I play baseball and basketball. I have been playing baseball since I was 10 and basketball since I was 13. Don't worry, I'm not the type to judge. I think your little tutu obsession sounds cute anyways. What your favorite color? Odd enough, mine is dark blue. Just like your tutu. I'm gonna ask two questions if you don't mind actually. Ummm, let's see. What are you afraid of? I have a fear of smalll places. I forget what it's called.
