Introduction

a/n: this chapter is mostly just for background of why and how u got to nevermore and some of life before nevermore

I was a 17 y/o with grades that consisted of A's, B's, and one or two C's. I also had a sarcastic, nice, but bitchy when mad attitude.

"y/n rosewood" my teacher called. "here" I said. I was in 3rd period, math. ugh. I was ok at it, I just never liked it. 3rd period went by fast as I never payed any attention and just listened to music the whole time.

*Ring* I got out of there as fast as I could cause who tf wants to be there anyways. I went to my locker to put away my books when my bestfriend came up to me, "heyyy" Addi said. "hey Addi, how's ur boyfriend?" I asked in a joking way. "annoying as ever" she said half joking, half not "how so?" I said, intrigued by what she meant. "he's just been so bitchy lately about video games like bro doesn't even have a life" she said. It's true, i've met him and all he ever talks about is video games. It's so annoying. I don't like him at all and I keep telling her but she just ignores me cause she's "so in love with him" pfft.

"sooo, you got anyone on your mind lately that I should know about?" Addi says smirking. She knows something I don't I swear. "oh yk I just met this boy yesterday and he's actually pretty cute, I might ask him out tomorrow." I say with a hint of sarcasm laced through my words. "wait really?!" she says excitedly, "no." I say laughing, yk I love her but she can be kinda dumb sometimes. "oh." shes says, disappointed. Just as soon as the conversation ended, the bell rang.

"I gotta go to english now, bye babe" I said. "Bye bae, oh and tell me if you ever want me to hook u up with someone" shes says laughing with a smirk, "fuck off" I say walking away, in a joking manner ofc.

As i'm walking to class, the world suddenly starts to go black and I start to see me but from a birds eye view. As i'm watching, a paper airplane flies at me but it's the me on the ground, and I almost 'wake up' in a way, still on my feet. Then out of no where, a paper airplane flies at me. Just like what i saw. Weird. From the birds eye view it seems like 1 minute passed by, when it reality, it was only 1 second.

Having no idea of what just happened, I start walking to class again. I walk in just before the last bell rang, signaling the class has started. I try to shake off what just happened and go on with whatever essay we have to write today. I put my apple earbuds with the wires in, cause they look better, and put on my fav band. (whatever band you want, it's up to you)

As i'm listening to the music, I still can't shake off what happened. Since I was so worried about whatever tf i experienced, last period went by fast and I didn't even notice it. The bell rang and I grabbed my stuff, went to my locker to take some books I needed, and got in my car to go home. As soon as i sat in my car I got another vision thing..

I had a birds eye view of two cars who of which just crashed together as my car was passing the accident on the way home. As I regain consciousness, I knit my eyebrows together, trying to figure out what was happening. I figure it's best to not dwell on the fact that i literally just saw a fucking crash happen before my eyes, so I just go home.

As im driving  see something happen, a crash. the same crash I saw in my vision. I start getting freaked out and drive home as fast as I can without getting in an accident.

As soon as I get home I turn on the hot water and I get in the shower to try and wash away all the dirt and dust off my body, as well to just try to think. I don't know exactly what about, just think. Once i'm out the shower, I get dressed and ready to do nothing else for the rest of the day. Cause let's be so fr, who actually does all of their school work?

Not long after I finish my shower, I hear my mom pull up in the drive way. I'm pretty close with my mom. I mean I don't tell her everything, just enough to have a decent relationship with her. She walks in the house as I greet her with the daily 'how was your day?' or 'how was work?' blah blah blah. "hey momma" I say, "yes dear?" she says back. "um I have something weird to tell you" I say as she gives me a concerned yet intrigued look, almost telling me to go on. "so today, on my way to class, I had something that was almost like a vision. But it was like I was watching myself but from a birds eye view and something was happening that didn't actually happen yet." I say concerned, "and once I regained consciousness, I was driving home and I saw that same thing happen just like what I saw before." I say scared for what she's going to say or do.

She just smiles. Without a concern in the world. "My love, I knew this day would come." She says smiling in a comforting way. I just sit there confused. What does she mean? "To put things short, you are a seer. You can see certain situations before they happen. It has been passed around in my family for years, but it skips some kids sometimes. Why? Well I don't know. But you my dear, have a wonderful chance. Most people in my family get their powers later in life. But since you got it so early, you get to go to a special school where it will help you learn about your powers, and learn more about others like you."

I sit there, dazed, confused, and eager. What school? Where is it? I wanted to ask why she didn't tell me earlier but I was too stunned. My mom just smiles, and tells me to think about it. What about my friends? Especially Addi? I can't leave her. But this could be my chance. I only have one. Plus I could always text Addi and she could rant to me about how awful Ms. Peterson's science class is. But I don't even know the school or anyone in it. Honestly tho, fuck it. what's the worst that could happen?
