(Leo Pov)

We run as fast as we ever have. Dodging all the dog attacks we can. Donnie will hit one and about my 20 more will appear. One gets me in the leg but we mmm he drags me away behind a rock. He takes off his mask and wraps my leg up as tight as he can. I still see blood. He does too. He sighs and pulls a red mask from a hidden pocket in his battle shell. A piece of paper falls out with it but he carefully shoved it back in.

"Is that..."

"Yes. He gave it to me before..." he trails off as he tightens Raph's mask on my leg. He wipes his eyes and finishes tightening the masks. "Better?" He asks. He helps me up. I wobble for a second then find my balance again. I nod and we continue running.

Donnie starts trailing behind but I grab his arm and we keep the same pace. We are almost back to the base when the worst happens. One of the big robots walk in front of us. Donnie stops moving and stares at it in awe. I yell at him to keep moving and grab him again. We keep running trying to get the the base as soon as we can, trying to outrun the metal monster.

"Leo! It's powering up! What do we do?!"

"Keep running Dee!" I yell back at him. He keeps keeping pace with me and keeping his eyes on the machine. His monitor blares at us yelling all hope is lost. I keep trying to remember Raph's words but as I see the robot has seen us and is getting ready to fire at us. Donnie doesn't move as he stares up at the death machine.

"Leo, do remember when Piebald and dad played that prank on us?"

"Yeah, why?"

"You wanted to help us but because it was a prank, there was no danger but we were all so scared. Raph told me that he knew I could get us out of the net but I didn't have any resources. Then you came and saved us!"

"Donnie why is this important now right when we're about to die?!"

"Because I'm saving us from this version of Piebald!"

The laser fully fires up and I full heartedly expect him to throw a force field but he just shoves me out of the blast zone! "DONNIE NO!" I yell. He smiles and throws his shell at me and it lands me on the ground. I throw the shell off of me and run back at him but it's too late. All that happens is that I feel my arm disintegrate. The burning feeling shouts up my body and I can hear myself and Donnie screaming. I pull out from the laser as fast as I can and fall down. My left arm is completely gone. I shriek in pain and feel the hot fat globs of tears stream down my face. The robot turns to me and I realize Donnie's sacrifice was for nothing. I am going to die here and there's nothing anyone can do.

The machines eye fires up again and I feel utterly helpless. As the machine gets ready to shoot again, someone comes and grabs me and runs to the base. I black out.

I wake up in the med bay with Donnie's shell sitting in the seat right next to me. I look at my arm and see it's bandaged and stained pink with blood. I can't control it and I start wailing like Donnie did when he was a baby. He would always get hit in the head and dad would come rushing to help. Raph would always feel guilty cause he was the one who would hit him on accident.

April and Mikey walk into the room. Mikey sees my sobbing and runs to me and starts crying with me. I hug him the best I can. April stands next too Donnie's shell and starts crying. She comes over to us and we all hug and cry for what feels like forever.

"That stupid self sacrificing asshole." April sobs. She grabs Mikey and I just a little harder.
