Bygones {The Start}

"I have it all planned!" Alice squeals excitedly.

"That is great." I say plainly.

"Come on Freya! At least pretend to be excited!" She whines, and I cringe.

I decide to remain silent until she speaks.

"Look, if this is about the jerk ex boyfriend of yours then- "

"Alice," I interrupt. "He is the last person you should speak of."

"Right," she sighs. "You and your broken heart."

"I am seeing that you have start enjoying provoking me on this topic," I mumble.

"The thing is that you dated him when he was newly into football, and now things are different. I really think you should talk to him."

"No, no, no!" I yell. "Not that should-talk-to-him discussion again."

"Think practically, for God's sake!" She scolds. "Maybe after you left here, he did miss you... Anyway, you'll never know unless you talk to him."

"What will I say? Do you really think its that easy?" I snap.

"It is never easy. But you shouldn't like be this either, talk to him," she insists.

"Okay, okay," I sigh in defeat. "Whatever happens, it's on you."
