"Granny I'm pretty sure that nigga said come as you are." I mumbled as I buttoned up my shirt as we got ready for church.

Today was her birthday and they was having some kind of special service for her and she wanted everybody to come.

"Hezekiah I know damn well you did just refer to as my God a nigga." She smacked the back of my neck making Halo  laugh.

One of these days she gonna be mad when my reflexes kick in and I stick her ass.

"Halo have you talked to Iris is she ready." She asked going into the living room.

"Yea she said she was gonna meet us there she gotta pick up Squeak and nem." She nodded getting up fixing her hair in the mirror.

"She ain't our family right." I asked spraying my Eros but Versace cologne.

"Nigga for the last time no damn."

"Just making sure."

"For what my friend ain't checking for you." She turned around putting her hand on her hip giving me a look.

"Who said I was checking for her ass."

I might be but that ain't her fucking business.

"Mhm." She replied walking out the room as I followed behind her.

"Granny how you go rush us but you in here watching Tv." Halo frowned looking over her seeing her glued to the couch watching CNN.

Ever since we was little she been obsessed with the news.

Growing up I had a rough childhood but my granny always been there for. Even more than my mama. She always made sure I straight, even when I was in the wrong I could always count on her to have my back. I regret all that stress I used to put on her when I was younger. My mama damn sure ain't care about nobody unless it was nigga and my pops was cool, but everybody need a positive woman figure in their life.
