Gay dating is probably the most complicated thing on the planet, the only thing harder is coming out. There are three types of gay people: openly gay, in the closet, and completely in denial.
Openly gay people are pretty simple. They're confident with who they are, and don't care who knows it. They're all about their rainbow pride.
Our closet gays are a little more complicated. It's really hard to date a person who's in the closet. It sucks not being able to show your affection in the open, but it's also kind of fun having a Romeo and Juliet style romance. Trust me, I get it, coming out is hella hard. So don't blame bae if he/she doesn't want everyone knowing just yet. You kinda have to ease them into it.
Now, our brothers and sisters who want to deny what they're feeling inside. It's so completely difficult to know someone is gay, but they're identifying as straight. You can always tell the difference between someone who's straight, and someone who's pretending to be straight. People who're pretending to be straight always get so super defensive when they think you're insinuating something about their sexuality. For example:
"Hey, are you gonna finish that taco?"
"NO! I don't even LIKE tacos. I like burritos and hotdogs and that kind of shit."
"Um ok....do you have any sauce?"
Hinting to the same sex that you like them can be difficult, especially if you're a girl. Girls tend to be more touchy feely and affectionate with each other by nature. Here's some tips on hinting
1. Do smile and be flirty.
2.DON'T make eye contact and slam two pairs of scissors together. That's just creepy. If someone ever did this to me, I would grab the nearest guy and lick his face, all while making eye contact.
3. Do hold her hand and make eye contact when talking
4.Touch her arm or shoulder when talking.
5.DON'T stalk her, being creepy is not the way to anyone's heart
6.Do take interest in what she likes to do
And when you're ready to ask her out, write her a cute little note. Or do something cute that pertains to her interests. If she plays softball, write your proposal on a softball, and have one of her teammates throw it to her during practice.
