☆ 3rd person POV ☆

As Shine halted to a stop, her lungs and legs burned tremendously. She whipped her head behind her. Her nasty parents were nowhere to be found.

She sighed with great relief. She was finally free. It was dark and cold out here, but at least she wasn't scared all the time. Quickly, she found a small crevice in a stone wall.

She curled inside, shifting herself until she was semi-comfortable. It was tight inside, yet it kept her out of the rain and was the best she could get. She softly layed her head on her dark front paws. Shine let her heavy eyes close. Soon, she drifted off to sleep.

The town was very much alive when Shine woke up. Pokémon were bustling about. Various smells drifted into her nose.

Shine laid there for a while, her dark yellow-ringed tail around her soft side. She looked out, eyeing the reddish orange sky above. She decided it would be best to go under the cover of darkness to slip out.

- Meanwhile -

Silver took a deep breath in. The fresh sunset air filled their lungs. They smiled as they padded along the sidewalk, flicking their tail every so often.

However, their peaceful walk along the street was soon disturbed. A low, yet loud gurgle or growl rippled into their pale lavender ears. It sounded like it arose from one's stomach.

They looked around them, flicking their purple eyes in many different directions. When they spotted nobody, they were confused. That was until they noticed a crevice in a nearby stone wall, which they decided to investigate.

As they peered into the crevice, they spotted two beautiful crimson eyes gazing into their purple ones.
" Hello there. ", Silver greeted, in a friendly tone.
They got no answer and the eyes only kept looking at them with unsure expressions.
" It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you. Why are you here? Don't you have a home that you need to do back to? ", They asked.

It was a couple of hesitant seconds before the mysterious crimson eyed pokémon replied.
" I do, but it's not safe there. I don't want to go back. ", A voice admitted.
" If I may be so bold, why is it not safe there? ", Silver questioned.
" My parents are abusive. They've been even more terrible when I came out as trans. ", The voice confessed.
" Aww, I'm so sorry. Some pokémon just shouldn't be parents, I would say. Anyways, may I ask your name, pretty stranger? ", Silver stated, in an sympathetic way.
" My name is Shine. ", Shine admitted.
" I'm Silver. As you don't have a home, would you like to live with me? ", Silver offered.
" Are you sure your parents won't mind? ", Shine questioned, unsure.
" I'm sure they won't mind. They're both very nice. They would understand and let you stay under our roof. ", Silver assured with a smile.
" Alright, I hope you are right. ", Shine stated.
