Drool Intentions! (A Short Story)

As the evening fell across the city of Los Angeles, the house laid quiet except for the sound of a dog searching for his brother.

"There you are!" Gus Yelled "What are you doing sleeping in the living room at 4:00 in the afternoon?" "Leave me be" said Genji. "I'm not sleeping, just resting my eyes." "Come on! I wanna get to the Pet Cemetery before it gets dark. You promised we do a Paranormal Investigation today!"
"Okay, I'm up. I'm up." "Is there anything you forgot to pack?" "Emf, spirit box, a couple of snacks, Oh I am forgetting something I'll be right back!" "Oh my god, Genji, why are you packing a pillow?" "You know me Gus, you just never know when nap time hits!"

"We've finally arrived. Are you sure you wanna go in there, Gus?" "Why wouldn't I, Genji? look at how spooky this place looks, The fog really sets the mood for a good ghost hunt!" "Do you wanna split up or stick together?" "Genji are you crazy? Of course we're sticking together! What if something bad happens?!"
After an hour of investigating, the boys were about to head home, but suddenly, Something on the spirit box was trying to connect with them....

"Can you hear me?" said a voice coming through the spirit box. "Did you hear that, Genji? "Loud and Clear, Gus."They can hear me! Oh boy, this is exciting!" "Who are you?" Genji said aloud."I'm Monty! I used to be Todo's dog!" "Todo?" "Probably someone from dad's Branfam, I heard they're awesome people!" "Precisely!" Monty exclaimed

Back at the house, Brandon was just about to start streaming when all of a sudden Micheal bursts through the door. "Have you seen the dogs?" "No, not for a couple of hours." "They're not in the house." "You don't think they got out, do you?" Brandon said in a panic."I did notice one thing, My ghost hunting gear is gone. "We have to go look for them, Do you have any idea where they could've gone?" "I can think of one place.".....

"What's it like in the afterlife, Monty? "It's beautiful! There's a huge field and a bunch of treats and bones to snack on!" "That sounds like heaven!" Genji exclaimed. "Are you buried here?" "No, I'm just exploring to see what cool places and delicious food there is around the world!" When Genji was about to ask another question, the boys heard the sound of someone walking on crunchy leaves towards them."Hurry, Gus, get behind a grave!" The footsteps kept getting louder and louder that left Genji and Gus shaking until they heard a familiar voice.....
"You guys! What did I say about ghost hunting without me!" "Dad?" Genji said aloud. "You guys had me worried sick!" Brandon said, relieved."Let's go home." As they walked out of the Graveyard, the spirit of Monty had appeared and waved goodbye."So tell me about your investigation!" "It's a long story."
