"So if we don't show up at the time Morinomiya Himemaki set..." Sarki Sean, one of the alters in the Uriah-Wei system that Baehoshi was part of, was pale.
"The workers will die. And it also means that if we lose this match... Perfectio could kill the workers and us," Magnus Black realised.
"In a nutshell... That Apophimon was pretty... strong." I rubbed my arm, remembering the... scene. It was... downright grotesque. I never did stuff like that with Pump, thankfully, but it just made me wonder, just how far were they willing to go.
"I need to help! I want to help!" Pumpmon protested as he climbed up my leg to sit on my lap.
"But you're still recovering from becoming Jokermon..." I frowned.
"It's fine. He's pretty okay now," Ryubo-san said while giving me a thumbs-up. "I checked him over. Just make sure not to overexert him, because the chances of fighting Morinomiya are pretty high and you'll need all the help you can get."
I couldn't help but sigh at that. She had a fair point... "True... alright, Boko, is it okay if I focus on using you until Pump recovers fully?"
He nods. "I understand."
"What about me, Hakase...?" Bakumon finally spoke up.
Bokomon looked pretty hesitant and unsure, so I took over here. "Baku, we only recently paired you up with the Digivice, and even more recently, we figured out how you could unlock alternate evos. Even then, it was Dad, not me."
After the fight against Haavik, Hiro and Dad had taken Mei out to a meadow so we could set up stuff for her birthday party, even though she had vehemently refused due to the trauma of being turned into a flower that day some years back. Apparently, the meadow they had chosen had been one where a Pillomon was and it hit Mei with its dream mist, causing her to enter a nightmare where she was not only tortured by Ravmon, one of Aoi's former underlings and the one who killed her brothers in an accident that scarred her for life until we broke the chains over her heart (not entirely, sadly), but also forced to hear self-deprecating thoughts. It was Dad, who decided to keep moving forward, who saved Mei and made her wake up again, unlocking AncientMegatheriumon in the process.
That was around the same time Dad and Hiro somehow, by some weird miracle, managed to get Mei a ticket to Paldea. The reason she wasn't around was that my dad and son managed to pull that off.
"So sorry, Baku. I promise we'll work on unlocking the other evos you may have, but until then, we need to focus when we're fighting Perfectio. They don't play around at all."
It should have been obvious, I thought to myself darkly. I can't play around either if they're putting people in danger. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself...
"We don't know how she's going to fight, though. Because counting your time, there are multiple ways to evolve," Dia pointed out.
"The normal way since the Crests only allow Warp Evolution, Armour Evolution, Biomerge, Spirit Evolution, Burst Mode Evolution, Xrosing, AppGattai counts I think, and our time's way of evolving," Bokomon listed. "It's a pretty extensive list..."
"We know Amato has Biomerging, which is a danger in and of itself. Asagao has the normal way... But that's all we know. And even then... What is the evolution Azami was trying to reach? An evolution beyond Mega..." Blues looked concerned. "Did you get any hints about how Morinomiya evolved their Digimon?"
"No. We just saw the symbol. But it was strangely reminiscent of something..." Bokomon frowned. He was the only one from the group that went who knew the past evolutions, so... "I can't say Spirit Evolution, because that only requires a human. Xros is unlikely, and so is AppGattai... Still, from the nature of that Apophimon... It's most probably Ruin Mode Evolution."
