I felt it once,
Love I mean,
It felt nice to know someone felt so strongly towards me
I almost felt brand new, even clean,

The way he played with my hair
His fingers so soft with every touch,
I forgot all worries and every despair,
He made me feel special, there was never any rush.

Day and night was all the same thing,
Time was forgotten like in a dream,
We were the sun and moon
Together forever, inseparable even
As though I were the petal to the flower that was our love.

Nights spent in his bedroom, just me and him,
I told him things, I let him in
I for once felt happy as though I could live
But the rain began to fall, I was a fish with a lost fin
I couldn't speak or think, my world was dark and dim.

I became a plant, a seed as such,
And when the thorns came they squeezed the blood from my heart,
Now I cannot love as my blood is stone cold and has forgotten its purpose,
The passion I once had for anyone has descended into nothing more than a withered vessel,
Too tired to live.

It was a dream I know,
It would have never lasted forever,
My life forbid it so
But the way he looked at me, even at night when the darkness hid my face from sight
His eyes searched and found
The little love that was mine.
