love you all,

xoxo,

As I walked home from the store, my eyes kept drifting towards the bag carrying the few items I had just bought. A candy bar, medicine that helps with nausea, and one other item. I carried the three secretly up my room. Kale slept in the room across the hall, but normally, once Leah and Liana were asleep, Kayla would let us sleep in the same room.

I rushed into the bathroom attached to my bedroom. I set the bag on the counter and took a bite of the candy bar. Crunch, my favorite. My eyes scanned over the words on the bottle of the medicine that said "Do Not Eat On An Empty Stomach!"

I took another bite before pouring the liquid medicine and drinking it. I finished the candy bar and started, wide-eyed at the third object.

I waited patiently, and the few minutes seemed as if they were taking days. Months. Even years. I paced back and forth, regretting doing this right after I took the medicine. My nerves were causing the nausea to return, this time with an even greater intensity. I was scared I'd just throw up everything left in my system, and as everyone, I didn't feel like throwing up. It wasn't exactly fun.

When Kale got home, he was excited because their team had won. He found me sitting in my room, on my bed, still shaking and crying.

"Kale," I mumbled when he walked in the room.

My heart sped up, and I didn't know what to say to him.

"Hanna, are you feeling any better, honey?" He whispered, sitting next to me on the bed.

I kept eyeing the test resting on my dresser in the corner.

"I-I-No."

"Aw, I'm sorry baby. Can I get you something?"

"Kale," I cried out.

He wrapped his arms around me, and I cried into his shoulder.

"Shh, you'll be OK."

"Kale," I tried to talk again, but I didn't know what to say.

The second I opened my mouth, my lips dried, and I couldn't produce sound. I looked over at the test, and Kale's eyes followed my line-of-vision.

"Hanna, is that a--"

"Kale, I'm pregnant!" I screamed out, scared of what to do, and I leaned back and pulled the covers over my face, quietly sobbing into them.
