We arrived at Summerset at 9pm, we park outside in our usual spot and get our stuff from the back of the car and then knock on grandpa and gran door and grandpa opens the door of course, he always opens it and gran is always busy preparing some tea and biscuits for us to have. As he opens the door I can smell the sweet honey smell of tea mixed with the smell of biscuits and mince pies and hear some music in the background classical Christmas music, "There are my favourite grandchildren!" Grandpa says with a jolly voice and fits a chuckle in the end of his sentence and kisses my sister on her forehead and gives me a tight hug. "Ah yes and my first born daughter!" He laughs away and gives my mum a kiss on the cheek and a hug, then goes up to dad and gives him a playful punch on the arm and hugs him and says "Declan, looking smart as always". As we go into the house with our bags, gran appeares out of nowhere and gives my sister and I kisses on the cheeks "looky here, my special little people!" She giggles out and says her hellos to mum and dad. After having snacks and tea Aisling and I go upstairs to our rooms to unpack, as I go into mine I smell the fresh smell of my old room and saw my old toys still in the same place as always and my favourite bed covers. As I unpack I heard a knock on the door, "come in" I say softly it was dad he came in with a old record player and places it on the floor besides me, "I thought you might like this for playing some music" he says with a grin on his face unfortunately his grin is very contagious whenever he grins with the proud look on his face you can't help but crack out a small smile "Thanks Dad" I say with a small smile, as he walks out and closes the door I get my "the smushing pumpkins" cd album and put it in the Cd player. While the song 1979 is playing softly in the background I slowly drift asleep on my bed and sleep comfortably.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————2:15am.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————Suddenly I wake up it's still dark out I check my clock up on the wall it's 2:15 in the morning,I sigh and then roll over to my left side where my window is and look at the train passing by slowly fade into the foggy snow. I still feel sleepy but not tired I just feel like going back to bed to go into my headspace again, my music is still playing softly but I guess my dad changed it to a Radiohead album he has this whole thing about how Radiohead is better than the smashing pumpkins which in my opinion I think it isn't. I lay there looking outside the window and just listen to the music mixed with the sound of the wind outside and think about how the wind sounds like it's singing along with the song, I finely fall asleep again and drown in my thoughts while I sleep.
At about 7:30am I wake up again,to smell the aroma of eggs and bacon and the two smells of tea and coffee combined,I take a quick shower and put on my clothes and head downstairs. "Good morning my sweet hummingbird" I hear my mum call out from the lounge, she always calls me that ever since I was little I tend to hum out my answers in response of things that's why she calls me that. "Morning mama" I say packing some bacon and some fruits and a waffle in a lunch bag and pour some tea into my flask so I can keep it warm and put all of it into my backpack and put some books into my backpack too. "Heading on your traditional walks I see" dad says with a laugh, I nod my head while putting in my scarf and coat, "be safe" mum says kissing my forehead and giving me a warm smile. I smile back and say yes and put on my boots and head out. I take out my mini radio from my backpack and start playing some music while walking into the park, as I walk to the park lake I notice a strange figure in the distance it at first looks like a strange figure then as I get closer I notice it's a boy about my age. He suddenly notices me and gets up with no hesitation and runs away far, I see him run up the hill and watch him slowly disappear. I sit down by the lake in the park on a bench where the boy was sitting and take out my breakfast and start eating while wondering who that boy was and why he ran past the hill, I haven't seen anyone go past the hill before. Dad says there's a big mansion called Yorkshire Moor Manor and there lives a old grumpy man there. When I'm done eating I spot a stick that looks like it's been sort of carved into a person like shape, as I pick it up I somehow feel some sort of warmth and happiness and keep it with me and go home with It. When I get back home I wash my dishes and quickly go upstairs to my room with my stick man, I sit down on my floor and place the stick opposite me and look down to my crossed legs and start talking. For some how I talk to it for about 5 hours I even gave it a name, his name is Sawyer. I felt like for the first time I had a real friend.
