Professor Black

Astronomie Tower

I heard her calling my name after me. I stopped by my dorm and changed my clothes. I leave my school stuff there too. Then I make my way up, up to the highest tower. And that is the Astronomie Tower. I find myself sitting on the floor and looking into the sky. I am happy that no one followed me. I pull my knees up to my chest and start sobbing. My tears wet my cheeks and knees. I sit there for hours on hours. No one found me so far. I hear the other students chat.

'Just jump, no one will miss you. You are not worth being saved. No one can save you. Not even Professor Black. No one will save you. Just jump, it's the best for everyone. Pansy can finally be with Draco happily. Tom and Blaise will leave you alone. They won't make fun that you don't have a family anymore. They won't even notice. You are a nobody."

I stand up and walk to the railing. I blend all the noises out. I don't even hear heels coming.

I step over the railing and hold on tight. Because I lost so much blood and wasn't so well overall I pass out and let go of the railing. I felt arms wrap around my waist before I completely passed out.

Narcissa's pov:

I looked everywhere in the school I could think of, trying to find Lily. The last thing I could think of was the Astronomie Tower. So I ran up all the stairs. I saw Lily climbing over the railing of the tower.

I sprinted over towards her and grab her right the second she fell. I pull her over the railing and lay her down.

"Lily! Lily!"

I pull her sleeve up to feel her pulse. I gasp. Her arm is full of scars and cuts. Her arm is full of blood. I feel my eyes fill with tears.

I pick her up and a piece of paper falls to the floor. I pick it up and carry her to my chambers. I call Severus, Minerva and Madam Pomfrey. I lay her down on the spare bed and read the note.

If you find me and this note I will be dead. I won't be a pain to someone. No one has to bother trying to help me. I know you don't know me. Maybe are a "friend" or a Professor. To Pansy:I hope you are happy with Draco. And to Professor Black: I really appreciate that you tried to help me but I just shouldn't be saved. To the people who liked me: I'm not worth it being liked.

My eyes fill with tears and I sit down by her side.

"Why didn't you come to me."

The door opened and Severus, Minerva and Madam Pomfrey come in. They all gasp when they see Lily's bloody arm. Madam Pomfrey immediately checks Lily.

"What happened?"

"In my lesson I gave them an exercise and they should have returned the paper to me. I looked at the papers and there was blood on Lily's. I kept her after the lessons and asked her about it. She just looked at her sleeve and ran away. I went after her and searched the entire castle. At last I went up the Astronomie Tower and found her, ready to jump. I grabbed her and pulled her back. She passed out and hasn't woke up since. But there was a letter."

I hand them the letter.

They skim over it. Minerva's face droops. "How can't we have noticed that it was that bad?"

"I don't know, but why did she leave a message directly to you Narcissa?"

"We grew kinda close on the train."

"That explains it."

"Take any sharp objects from her. Another cut and she could drop dead." We turn our heads to Poppy. "It's that serious."

"Narcissa." Severus spoke after a moment of silence. "Stay close to her. Not only be a good teacher but be someone she can trust. Be harsh when you think you need to. She is a stubborn girl. Try to help her."

"Yes, of course."

"And make her eat."

"What?" Minerva looked at Poppy.

"Her weight is under the average."

"Oh god."

"That's not good at all." Severus looks at Minerva and me.

"So, make her eat aswell?"

"Yes, she needs to gain some weight or she won't be with us for so long." Poppy leaves Lily alone.

"You got it?"

"Yes, I will do my very best."

"Good." Poppy smiles and leaves. Minerva follows her.

Severus puts a hand on my shoulder. I turn my head to look at him. He smiles. "You will take good care of her Narcissa. Don't let her win. It's for her best if you win."

"Okay." I sigh.

"Good luck." He left my chambers.

"Thanks." I sit down by Lily's side and take her hand.

"Why did you want to jump darling? Please let me help you."

She wasn't moving a muscle. I could see her chest rise and fall. It was a good sign for me.

Hours passed by. Lily wasn't waking up. I sat in an arm chair besides the bed and read my novel while waiting for Lily to wake up.

A few minutes before midnight someone knocked on my door. I put my novel down.

"Yes?"

"Did Lily wake up?" Minerva entered.

I shook my head and looked at her. "Will she even wake up." "She will wake up. I'm sure of it."

I looked back at Lily. "I hope so."

"I'm going to bed now, good night."

"Good night."

Minerva left my chambers.

I sat down in my arm chair again. I fell asleep after a while. I couldn't stay awake longer.

I woke up at eight the next morning. Lily still wasn't awake so I got ready for the day and then sat back down by her side and wait for her to finally wake up. There was a knock on the door and someone entered.

"Severus, what brings you here?"

"I wanted to see if Lily was awake."

"She isn't awake yet Severus. I'm sorry."

"Let me know when she is awake."

"I will."

Severus left my chambers again. I stay seated in the arm chair. I patiently wait for her to wake up.

Another hour passed without her waking up.

I was caught up in my novel when I hear coughing. I put my book down and sit by Lily's side.

"Lily?"

"Where am I?" She asked sitting up.

"Somewhere safe."

Then it made click in Lily's head. She began to cry.

"Hey, it's okay."

She curled up in a ball. I hugged her tight.

"You are safe. I will keep you safe."

"I'm sorry." She sobbed.

"It's okay. I'll tell Professor Snape that you are awake."

"Stay with me, please."

"I will." I took my wand out. "I'll send a Patronus to him."

"Okay."

I send my patronus to Snape and he comes quick.
